If you would have taken out Brady earlier in the year the pats would still be in the playoffs with jimmy G. But, would the rams be in the playoffs without Gurley? Maybe, but less likely than the patriots. Gurley is MVP

Funny how some franchises always seem to produce great players at a certain position. The Chicago Bears for example at MLB, but always seem to struggle at QB....The Pittsburgh Steelers at WR and the Clev/LA/STL/LA Rams at Running Back through the years...You can start with Tank Younger and go from there even some honorable mentions like Wendell Tyler, Greg Bell & Willie Ellison, but overall not a bad list in order of the time they played.

  1. Tank Younger
  2. Lawrence McCutcheon
  3. Eric Dickerson
  4. Marshall Faulk
  5. Steven Jackson
  6. Todd Gurley

I tried to voice this concept in the Gurley For MVP thread, but you did a much better job!

Well stated... and accurate IMO.

Yep we've been very blessed. OL and DL for that matter too of course.

Rams have a great history man, I love looking back at some of those old teams and players. Some great memories in there.

Arnett was good, but didn't last long, injuries. Talk at the time, Green Bay wanted to trade Paul Horning for Arnett straight up
train
And Buffalo Bills Owner Ralph Wilson offered Orenthal James "O. J." Simpson, to George Allen for Roman Gabriel back in the summer of 69.

QB's that start for over a decade dont come along that often, then and now. So no way i'd trade Gabe for Simpson

Hindsight being 20/20 you make the deal, Gabriel only lasted four more seasons in horns, but did bring the Rams WR Harold Jackson from the Eagles in 73, however, back in 69 Rams did not have another option at QB as their back up was Karl Sweetan.

Congrats to TG btw, and hope he gets some good rest for the playoffs where he's gonna get a lot of work. He's probably going to take a big hit in the MVP race due to being rested vs the whiners, but who knows hopefully he'll still get the hardware.

Either way, though, it's the ring these guys really want. Pretty sure this team is locked in on that.
