i know it’s been said in other threads but I’m getting really ticked that the MO of our last two opponents seems to have been to try to take our offensive stars out of the game with some pretty dirty shots.

I’ve also watched some of the most blatant missed calls (cough cough offsides on Suh, the onside kick) I’ve EVER seen.

The league really needs to look into this as it appears to me the refs have to be willfully allowing it.

The league and Goodhell can talk all they want about protecting players but they appear to care more about close games.

IMO it is getting out of hand.

Surprising post from you Stu, You seem to be a level headed rational guy that wouldn't buy into such a philosophy. Good to see your fire in this thread. I agree it sure seems as though someone is trying to play the equalizer against us. And yes I still think you are logical and rational.

Me? Level headed? Rational? Hahahaha.

I’m just getting pissed at hits I see as designed to injur with no calls. The NFL is full of shit on acting like they caught Williams for doing that shit when I have ZERO doubt it’s still happening and was before the tape.

If the NFL wants to claim to be concentrating on player safety, they need to do more than call a few questionable roughing calls on Matthews or a touch of the helmet against Tammy Brady. They need to take steps to prevent injurious hits.

I have a hard time buying that Rosell would have presided over this kind of mixed message shit show. Goodhell is just the worst kind of politician rather than being a commissioner.

Get over it. Every team deals with bad calls and injuries.

I agree Stu, $ before all....no question the NFL is still scrambling after it's media black eye. They aren't as clearly guided or focused and times they are a changing...………………………..Rapidly

It's crazy what difference a few years makes. Not to long ago opposing fans were saying this about the Rams. It's nice to be on the other side of the coin.

No doubt and yes it is. (y)

The refs are bad all around. Unlike the Fisher years, when I was pretty sure the refs had it out for us because of Jeff Fisher, I don't think the refs are targeting us right now. They just suck period, so it appears that way because we ignore the calls in our favour and move on. A few weeks ago we got away with a pretty obvious block in the back by Saffold, in my opinion, which led to a huge gain. I didn't see anyone harping on that in the post-game threads. And on that play they even threw a flag... only to pick it back up!

The hit on Cooks was extremely dirty. Unbelievable that it did not result in a fine.

I think Stewart just went for the tackle though and, as he was bouncing off Kupp, tried to grab him to bring him down and unfortunately caught the collar. Not a dirty play IMO.

Frankly, as I saw that play happen and the flag come out I was screaming that the defender turned his back on Saffold right at the last second and there was nothing else for Rog to do. I still hold with that. Yeah Saffold hit him in the back part of the shoulder but you can’t just peroette and cry foul. Apparently the officials saw it that way too. I find that completely different than turning a blind eye to targeting.

But yes.. the refs are bad all around.

When Cooks/Kupp/Woods are unstacking the box for Gurley with precision routes and pin-point passes from Goff this team is UNBEATABLE.

I have been livid two weeks in a row over the targeting on our 3 elite Wide-outs.

I got in trouble with the family (wife) for my football viewing outbursts the last 2 Sundays. I was placed under "time-out".
Thank god for DVR.

Go Rams!

Your thread title, from the beginning, just reminded me of that song.
My sister and I used to sing that part (22 seconds in) when people annoyed us.

Seattle has knocked 4 wide receivers out of the game the past 2 weeks. 3 I think have been on helmet to helmet plays. I haven't heard of any suspensions or even penalties. I'm sorry, that's BS.

The Suh penalty was bad. I see the neck locks as the refs trying to keep the points rolling. Maybe they should change the rules. Offensive holding should be changed because they allow it when in close quarters. Sometimes fans see things a little shaded to their team. I thought we should have a thread on ref calls good or bad for the Rams for every game.

I agree, what he did wasn't intentional, but he still should play with more discipline.

No one can say for sure whether he did it with intent to injur so you kinda have to give him the benefit of the doubt. I don’t however have to give the benefit of the doubt to the NFL or its officials. It happened. It injured. If you are not going to stand for your mantra of player safety, it is just lip service and frankly, saying one thing and doing another is weak and I can’t get behind it.

I loved that song when it came out. I lived in kind of a cow town so we would always crank that up at parties or in the parking lot at school. It had the word fuck in it after all. We were such rebels. :ROFLMAO:

Glad to see we're able to talk about things that bother us, despite our record. I was temp banned during the 2016 season bc i thought we were playing terribly and our 4-1 record did not reflect our teams playing on the field. The vibe was pretty much "we're winning so shut up". Im sure we all know how that season ended up...

I haven't really seen dirty plays.
...
The no calls on holding is just down right silly at this point. I do see it every game now though. I think the league is allowing holding on pass blocking as an extension of protecting tbe wilting flower QBs.
On Donald it has reached the level of parody.

...and this is only going to get worse as teams realize the league is allowing just about everything short of tackling him.

Sometimes even tackling him is OK.

I’m guessing that didn’t happen on this board.
