I offered the trade up and gave them our 2nd next year and it has a thing at the bottom either this trade is likely to be accepted or not and it'll give a % if it's not an absolute yes or no. I kept adding their picks and it never went to a % I should have given them our 3rd next year instead.
LMAO...if only it were that easy in real life!

As we get closer to the draft.. I feel more and more like I want to double up at corner relatively high in the draft. I'll hope that one of the two shows the ability to compete as a rookie and that the second one can be developed and contribute on special teams.
After that.. I'm going Oline... and then probably rolling with the board for value.

Keep seeing Marcus Jones which is a good thing even though I dislike that it gets my hopes up lol. I'd love to see him be our pick there. Dude is small which is why we would get a shot at him, but in today's NFL of matchups in the secondary he'd be a guy you can match up on the small explosive types. Our secondary would be significantly better with him added to it.

Oh and insane return skills too. This guy has skills both sides of the ball.

I've kind of backed off from that simulator for now. Seems like what you did here are the same players I always see at positions I like at the same picks. Can't tell you how many times I've had Tom, Flott, Anderson and Araiza along with a few others in my mocks.

That one was weird. The guys at the top of the board when the first pick came up were different from any other mock I'd done on it and since.

But yeah, Jones, Tom, Flott, Anderson and Araiza have been available nearly every time along with Darien Butler/Landmann in Rd 7.

I did a few tonight, like the first one more. My second got killed by drafting a punter lol.

Did some as well, and I find it funny that we all seem to be drafting the same group of players give or take a few.

So we all seem to think a like.

I traded Henderson & Rapp. Then got a high level edge at the top of round 2 after the trade up.

Then beefed up the secondary and added depth along the OL.

Although I missed on a RB, but intend to re-sign Michel and grab a couple UDFAs or a cheap vet in FA.

Trading Henderson & Rapp again, but no major trade up, more about quantity over quality in this one.

Enagbare would be amazing. But then again I really love the edges who have some power to their game. He's a significantly better edge option for the rotation than Malone would be, more physical vs the run with better leverage and balance. This means he's a far better fit for this defense to survive this division where contain is so crucial.

I don't know what type of value Hendy has around the league but packaging him to move up for an edge like Enagbare would be fantastic.

The algorithm has been updated so here's my latest mock draft using this platform without any trades:

I still view Domann as a safety.

Just to be clear... it's likely Araiza is gonna go in the 5th or early 6th round

If we don't take him in the 5th, we aren't getting him... that said, I think they've got their eyes on someone else... someone they can realistically get in the 7th.

No, I dunno who

Also, has anyone audited their "grades" from past drafts to see if they're worth a damn?

I mean, we've seen teams that "won the draft" and then went on to win 4 games, so... while the players are interesting, I dunno if the grades mean anything.

Not saying they're good or bad, just that I dunno if they have any relation to literally anything beyond some assigned value as a prospect...

I mean last year, Kadarius Toney woulda been an A+ in the second round and I wouldn't give a 7th for him...

Araiza is a better punter than Bryan Anger, and Anger went in the third. Don't be surprised to see Araiza go before #104.

The thing about punters is this. If you stink and/or you either go the length of the field or go 3 and out... then you need a punter with a big leg to help flip the field.

Typically, we don't do that and if we need to punt, we need to get it inside the 20 which likely isn't all that long of a kick.

We need a punter with EXCELLENT accuracy who's also an excellent holder. We really don't need a massive leg.

Part of the reason Hekker's numbers have gone down from his Fisher days is that we don't punt as often AND we don't have to punt it as far to flip the field.

But yeah, I would expect Araiza to go as early as the 5th and in any other draft, I think it could be earlier, but this draft has so many solid day 2 guys going into day 3 that I don't think we're gonna see a repeat of Bryan Anger.

Last year? Totally could see it because there were barely enough guys declaring for the draft to fill all the draft roles and the UDFA slots AND there weren't any punters even close to Araiza, so it was get him early or not at all.
