Suspended? what ?he doesn't get to go to the games ?have any contact with the organization?does he forfeit his pay like a player?(to himself LOL)

I'm not in to a lynching, but for him a pretty meaningless amount of money and a symbolic suspension, then again would any of us come down hard on our boss if he was gonna still be our boss after the dust cleared.

Wonder if the commish let him suggest his own punishment

You make some good points. If only his punishment were to not be such a D-Bag.

Full release in Jim Irsay suspension:

Following his plea of guilty to one misdemeanor count of driving while impaired, Indianapolis Colts owner Jim Irsay has been suspended for the team’s first six regular-season games and fined $500,000 for violating the league’s Personal Conduct Policy, the NFL announced today. Mr. Irsay will be eligible to return following the Colts’ game against the Houston Texans on October 9.

Terms of the suspension imposed by Commissioner Roger Goodell include the following:

- During the suspension, which takes effect at 5 p.m. ET tomorrow, Mr. Irsay may not be present at the club’s facility, may not attend any practices or games, may not represent the club at league or league committee meetings or at any other team or league event, and may not conduct media interviews or engage in social media regarding any team or league matters.

- In addition, Mr. Irsay is fined $500,000, the maximum permitted under league rules.

- Mr. Irsay will be subject to ongoing treatment, counseling, and testing as determined by medical professionals and the Indiana court.

Commissioner Goodell noted that no draft choice forfeiture or other competitive sanction will be assessed because the conduct did not have competitive consequences.

In a letter to Mr. Irsay, Commissioner Goodell said, “I have stated on numerous occasions that owners, management personnel and coaches must be held to a higher standard than players. We discussed this during our meeting and you expressed your support for that view, volunteering that owners should be held to the highest standard.”

Part of his punishment should be to have to attend the first 6 Browns home games. And not in a box or VIP, down in the crowd. And he has to wear a Bengals jersey or some shit. Maybe a Brady Quinn Jersey.

You guys are missing the biggest punishment:

According to Yahoo! he's been forbidden from discussing the Colts or the NFL on his Twitter account. Can't even make that crap up!
Thanks for pointing that out,I agree it's probably the most painful thing for him

Yeah... suspending him from his drunken 3 am rants on twitter is really going to be painful for Irsay. I wonder if he'll really be able to make it without slipping up... I'd bet he doesn't.

This whole thing is dumb. Being "suspended" means nothing for the owner. The organization will continue on as if nothing happened. The money is probably the only thing that will hit home, billionaire or not, 500K is a lot of money. However, when it comes right down to it none of this will change anything. I didn't give a rip when I heard Irsay got a DUI and has other problems. To me, it didn't stand out at all and he isn't what I associate the league with.

Suspended? Too funny. How 'bout a draft pick Rog? Way to hold him to a higher standard. I'm sure Irsay will have nothing to do during those games.
