…and speed and ability to find soft spots in middle. Just not good at fighting for the ball and taking any punishment.TuTu is an interesting thought.
I forget about that guy.... And he does have soft hands.

I think we match up well with this team. The Rams need to limit mistakes, play disciplined defense. Having Lake up to speed now should solidify the back end a bit. I get the feeling our defense will surprise some and play pretty well.I would say Shanny is a coordinator who uses the run to open up the pass. Remove his run game and his offense shuts down.
McVay is the guy who uses the run to punish light boxes. He has never been dedicated to it and he won a title and almost another one without it.
There is nuance in all that of course. But he simply is not a guy whose goal every game is 30+ runs like Shanny. Because he is better at the pass game, and Shanny is better with the run game.
Anyway. I agree we have to run it in Chicago because otherwise they will drop 8 and limit our scoring. And this year's offense is the strongest run game we have had in years, so they will run it well vs the light boxes.
The key for the Rams is if they get a lead don't piss away downs by running into loaded boxes. Keep the heat on.
To me going “up-tempo” does not necessarily mean pass all the time. Using quick snap counts, and maybe some sugar huddles to me would be considered more “up-tempo.” Now that I can agree with doing, “sometimes”I know some feel the run game is an area that needs to be established or even be the primary game plan on Sunday against the Bears..... but....
........what I have watched with the Rams when slowing the game down and be over-methodical, we just don't get the ball in the endzone and we end up settling for field goals and or watching our great ST's punt the ball.
When the Rams go up-tempo on offense it seems we get the ball in the endzone more often.... I don't have a stat sheet to pull out of my ass that's longer than the state of California to show this type of trend, but I really hope the Rams come out of the gate hot with the offense...... 30 plus points, we win hands down.
I think this is relevant. So third most motions. A lot less screen plays than I think people here realize. Most play action which absolutely .makes sense. Way below the average for no huddle. And RPO lol.

We will lose this game if we come out trying to sling it too much, too often. Bears thrive on turnovers, and they will happen throwing in this weather.I know some feel the run game is an area that needs to be established or even be the primary game plan on Sunday against the Bears..... but....

Everyone was screaming at McVay to get back to what he did on the opening drive must have forgot how he called plays on the opening drive.
10 pass plays
4 run plays
Yeah I think he could’ve gotten to the run a little bit more, but we had several 1st and 10 runs in the second half that went for negative or no yardage. They were bringing a million guys into the box. We just struggled in protection and Stafford was off during the 2nd and 3rd quarter. We needed better execution from our offense in those looks, and that would’ve opened up the run game like crazy.McVay was perfect until the last two minutes and 30 seconds where he thought he could run the clock by running the ball when the Bears had 3 timeouts and and the two minute warning. Never abandon the pass.... and that's what McVay did and the Bears got the ball right back.... Stick to the pass.

I thought his biggest mistake of the game was calling a running play on 3rd and 10 with 2:07 left. Could’ve ended the game there, and we only killed 7 seconds by running the ball.
He was talking about the last drive..... He will never publicly call out his players for bad execution.... he does that in private..... I'm sure he will have some words for Lake and Ferg for day dreaming on the field.Even McVay is admitting he called a lousy game. Good grief, I guess what does he know?
The playcall he was clearly most angry with himself about was the 3rd and 1 reverse toss to Corum. I could see his line of thinking when he called it….we *just* ran that end around with Puka and picked up 4th and short. Fake the end around to Puka, reverse toss to Corum and he picks it up easy. Problem is Dennis Allen was expecting the exact same thing. He was talking about the last drive..... He will never publicly call out his players for bad execution.... he does that in private..... I was most surprised with our lack of 13 personnel. It’s been 50% of our offense for 2 months and last night it was 9%. Wonder what he saw on film that made him get away from it.
I was also surprised. First... the weather made it difficult to throw and secondly, the bears D was supposed to be poor against the run. Extra, large blockers might have made a big difference. But then again... what the hell do I know?I was most surprised with our lack of 13 personnel. It’s been 50% of our offense for 2 months and last night it was 9%.
