Gay makes a 55 yarder look easy, then (while I was questioning why they didnt go for 2) he inexplicably misses the XP that would have made it an 11 point game. Of course the first thing I thought of was picturing @Selassie I screaming, "Effing Kickers!!!"
I was thinking they would go for 2 as well.
Then they missed the XP.

14 rushing attempts against one of the worst run defenses in the league.
Im sure McVay gets the data driven info regarding trends with playing and defenses.....he choses to ignore those facts for some reason.
There have been multiple times where the Rams have played teams with some glaring weaknesses, like Green Bays run defense, and he just ignores it.
A lot of changes due this year and McVay play calling and run commitment have to two of them.
Some of the runs we made were really strong, but then again there were just as many where we got blown up behind the line of scrimmage. So much so that I started to wonder how the Packers got the Stat of one of the worst against the run. Then I remembered we are trotting out a practice squad oline. How many teams ran over the Packers with an oline rated damn near worst in the league?

I was hoping to see more run packages with Powell. Dude is super slippery and seems to be able to sqweek in between defenders better than Akers or Williams.

Hell, I said that right after the Niner game. In the playoffs, it's all about seeding. There are many times an advantage to be a high wildcard over the bottom division winner. You could see the pathway to the SB was easier for the Rams as a wildcard. They simply needed the Niners to do the heavy lifting then the Rams could tear their heart out in the NFC Championship game.

Usually it's better to be the top seeded wildcard than the 4th ranked division winner. If you can't get the #1 or 2 division seed then shoot for the top wildcard. Look at the right now. If the Lions win out they could be the #1 or 2 wildcard. Look at who they would play as the #1 wildcard. Tampa? They could beat them after that they could make some noise. Personally, if they make the wildcard seeding they could be dangerous in the playoffs. They were just one play away from winning in at least two games maybe 3. Had they won those games they would be fighting for that top wildcard if not the division. Next year the Lions could be poised to be a playoff contender.

Come on Old-Man (lol) be a playoff contender next year(Lions?). I think your spot on that they have a shot this season like your saying. You add The Rams #5 pick overall & there own 1st. Rd, - Philly & 9ers QB’s are not 100 either.

Exactly right about The Rams last season.I heard talk radio about QB’s.
Nick Foles for Weedle came up when Philly won it all.—Now you could add The Jags of making noise as well from the AFC? Look at Philly’s HC at the time ? Just a thought(fart).

That does bring me back to draft picks though. I think that is how you build your team. Fisher will always piss me off (Snead was a part of it) with trading for Goff when The Rams had Case & Foles who played against each other for the NFC Champ & Foles won it all.
How many draft picks?
Now how many picks for Goff?

The Rams with Stafford & Baker is a nice place to be depending on how the camp space works.

1) Enough of GB on the schedule already...
2) And how the fuck do they keep getting these games at home? We haven't hosted them since 2018.
I hope you guys bounce back next year. Merry Christmas to all you Ram fans! You guys are great, F the Forty Whiners! I hate them.

A question for you guys? You remember when we had Farve we were one of the best teams in the league and you guys beat us in Lambeau. You guys remember that? I think the Rams had Chris Miller at QB then. I wonder when that was. It was a huge upset.

Carberry is only as good as the guys he has to work with. Skura, Aboushi, and Havenstein were flawed before he got to work with them and their problems have to do with a lack of or limited talent that no amount of coaching can correct. He worked well with Jackson and Shelton on the other hand.

Carberry isn't the problem. Bottom of the barrel players are the problem.
Agree, but doesn't the coach also have some responsibility for the personnel? And the readiness of the subs?

Boy it must really SUK to be an Angels fan.....Ohtani probably playing in LA next year (24) not Anaheim.....

Well I would say if the Angels didn’t sign Pulhus & build a team that was fun to watch with a player like Trout.
—He would have lived longer than he did.We can talk about injuries & star players. It’s about buildtdepth.
-We can talk about the difference, but right now I’d say The Angels are right there.
IMO everything goes up the middle. You can look at all the good teams & can draw a straight line on it.Will the Dodgers make that move to add.

They don't have much salary cap space and don't have much high-end draft capital.
This is unfortunately the truth. Look, I favored selling out to win it all last year too. It was the right thing to do with stars such as AD, Stafford, and Miller who weren't getting younger or certain to keep playing forever. But restocking the roster-- which looks depleted in a number of positions, starting with the oline-- will take extraordinary skill and judgment to fill the gaps needed for the Rams to bounce back fully.

And health. Health alone will make a huge difference to get them to competent.

And Miller.....and Busch...and Pages.....
I'm fascinated by the kids right now.

Stone is the one I want to see against big leaguers the most right now. He mowed through AA and AAA last year. Smaller starter.. but, damn.. he looked like he figured it all out.

I feel like Cartaya is a trade piece.. for a really big trade. Between Smith and Rushing coming up... they have flexibility.

@badcop the whistle doesn't signal the end of a play (live/loose ball), a dead ball does (tackle, incomplete pass, runner out of bounds, touchback, etc.).

By your logic, the hit on Akers isn't a penalty since the official didn't blow the play dead even though he was a few steps out of bounds.

To all posters: Some of the calls didn't go our way, and some could have been called evenly against GB. This is the Rams board not the Saints board. Accept the defeat and move on!

I hope ADPOY comes back as I know he has this week's game circled on his calendar.

Ask Mcvay who his Daddy is ? Probably Shanny, but Lafleur owns him.
Mcvay does have an excellent bloodline though if you look at his coaching tree.
Who has won a Lombardi and who hasn't? THAT'S the acid test of who is other's daddy...

I'm not even mad about the game. I had several (too many? Maybe) drinks with my dad, ate some amazing birria tacos I cooked up (my first attempt), and had a great time.

What pisses me off is the fucking Cowboys losing. I did not expect that and lost a bunch of RoD dollars because of those useless bastards.
