I'd like to know why "passive-aggressive" is considered such a bad thing. I'm tired of it. Just accept the man for how he is.


Would it be better if he let fists fly?

SHUT UP with the passive-aggressive crap. It's a fine way of expressing one's self.
It's sad that society is at a place where we think criminals should be freed from prison, but if someone makes a back-handed comment he's considered a bad person.

Nobody thinks you're a bad person because you made a back-handed comment. They think you're a bad person if you're constantly making those sorts of comments and alienating the people around you. I recall Greg Jennings (there may have been another Packers WR who said something similar after leaving) saying after he left GB that Aaron Rodgers wasn't a leader and basically calling him out for being a petulant child. I totally get why the Packers would have a backup plan for Rodgers.

I used to feel the same about Aaron Rodgers as I feel about Russell Wilson, in that he could wreck a game by winning it at the last second.
I don't have that sense of dread anymore when Rodgers has the ball, trying to drive the length of the field to score. Now I think, when will he throw a pick?

It looks like in 2 years 2022 they can trade him or even in 2021 if they think Love is ready.

The Packers haven't helped Rodgers of late with talent on the roster. From what I read he doesn't like to stick to the play calls. It looks to me that he seems to upstage the HC. It could be best to trade him while he has value and they can get a few high draft picks.

The Packers might be too smart for their own good, I’ve read people defending GB’s draft strategy, reasoning that there was no skill player who could help them where they drafted. Well I doubt Love helps them at all next season either so that doesn’t ring true to me. They also gave up capital to move up so they have multiple picks that won’t be helping the team this year. This was also one of the best receiver drafts in a long time, the Rams got a nice receiver in the middle of the 2nd.
GB got totally outplayed on both sides of the ball against the niners twice! The niners scored 30+ and GB was in single digits both times, clearly GB is not in the 9ers class.
You would think a team would go all in on the final years of Rogers greatness but coaches and gm’s have egos too. LaFleur will never get credit while AR is around maybe he’s really getting ready for life after Rogers.

REPORT: PACKERS HC MATT LAFLEUR FED UP WITH AARON RODGERS

The Green Bay Packers’ shocking decision to trade up for Utah State quarterback Jordan Love in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft was apparently meant to send a message to Aaron Rodgers.

Fresh off an appearance in the NFC Championship game, Green Bay was seemingly prepared to get a pro-ready prospect who could help Rogers immediately. That obviously never came to fruition.

Instead, the Packers looked to a future without Aaron Rodgers under center. It’s a future that could come sooner rather than later.

According to Bob McGinn of The Athletic, Packers head coach Matt LaFleur has grown tired of Rodgers’ act and passive-aggressive style.

“PUBLIC NICETIES ASIDE, MY SENSE IS LAFLEUR, FRESH FROM A TERRIFIC 13-3 BAPTISMAL SEASON, SIMPLY HAD ENOUGH OF RODGERS’ ACT AND WANTED TO CHANGE THE NARRATIVE. WITH A FIRST-ROUND TALENT ON THE ROSTER, THE PACKERS WOULD GAIN LEVERAGE WITH THEIR IMPERIAL QUARTERBACK AND HIS PASSIVE-AGGRESSIVE STYLE,” THE REPORT READ. “IF THE PACKERS DO INDEED WANT TO BECOME A RUNNING TEAM NEXT SEASON, THEY SURELY WOULDN’T WANT RODGERS ROCKING THE BOAT AND BECOMING EVEN MORE DIFFICULT TO COACH.”

This seems to be more of an indictment of Rodgersthan anything else. Remember, his relationship with former Packers head coach Mike McCarthy was strained before they fired him late in the 2018 season.

Rodgers, 36, is coming off a 2019 campaign that saw him record north of 4,000 yards with 26 touchdowns and four interceptions. The future Hall of Fame quarterback still seems to be in his prime.

Despite this, the marriage between Rodgers and his original Packers team could very well be on the brink. The 2020 campaign will be a defining one for said relationship.

The alternative to passive aggressive doesn't have to be physically aggressive.

It's being assertive.

There is something wrong with being passive aggressive. It's fine for a 14 year old, but not a professional, definitely not one in a leadership role.

Be assertive. Be direct, be honest but have some tact about it.

Passive aggressiveness is horseshit to work with day after day. If the rest of his team can be respectful adults and keep that shit out of the workplace, so can the big star Quarterback.

Or maybe the Packers just drafted Jordan Love the same way franchises (like Green Bay) draft QB’s - to develop behind their starter to eventually take over the reigns when they retire or leave the team.

The irony in all this is the article suggests that drafting Love is a “passive aggressive” move to counter a “passive aggressive” player.

Totally looking forward to the Wentz article saying he’s so damaged they went Hurts. Last I checked every team seeks competition and has a back up QB if not 2.

I get that, and it's fair to question.
Not so much with Rogers whose reputation for being a prick goes way back.
My work puts me in contact with big name entertainers sometimes, and the passive aggressive ways they can treat their subordinates can be rather shitty and borderline abusive. If he fits that personality type, who uses his untouchable status to constantly agitate or demean or whatever- people who lack the power (job security) to stand up to it, then screw him.

Green Bay can't afford the cap hit by Trading Rodgers for the next two years. They would have to eat a whole lot of money. But, stranger things have happened. Won't happen this year for sure. But next year, maybe. They do have $52 million in cap space next year. So that would be the only time they could really consider it.
