I was reading an article today regarding the possibility of starting Matt Barkley (2nd year from USC) instead of Mark Sanchez next Sunday. As was pointed out, Sanchez becomes a free agent next year and to date Barkely appears to be a persona non-grata in Philly....which begs the following question: should the Rams consider either or both QB's as a possible back-up for the Rams next season (via trade or offer)?
It seems to me that Barkley is rather unknown (untapped-untested) when it comes to the pro game. He's played in a pro set his entire college career and IMO, it has yet to be determined as to his potential and upside. I know it's a bit early, but considering Hill's advanced age and known limitations (physicality-arm strength), it appears to me that one or both might be better suited as the Ram #2 or 3.
