6 of them are top 10 defenses. We've definitely had some game changing officiating and we've played bad enough to give some games away. But we've also played an incredibly ridiculous schedule. I know it won't make it much easier to live with the fact we could just as easily be 6-3 or 7-2 but we've battled some of the best teams in the NFL as well as anyone has. Yeah, we've F'd ourselves and it sucks for sure but in the past I would say it was more luck than we are just a pretty good team. Losing Sam hurt more than I had hoped. We have some holes to fill but I for one don't think we are as bad as our record shows. We just need some better OL and QB play (I guess really better execution in general is a better way to put it) and we're right in the mix for the playoffs.

I know if's and but's :)

BTW, that's not even including Arizona who is #12. They sure play like they are top 5 though IMO.

At least we're not Raiders fans.

Stout defenses just come with the territory in the NFC West. We can expect to play against that caliber defense for a long long time.

I don't want to sound too negative, although it is what I do on ROD, but we could be so easily 0-9 right now, not 3-6.

We got lucky against the bucs with the 10 second run off, they should have won with a field goal
We we're fortunate against the hawks with the mason fumble at the end
And the niners should have easily won that game bar that freak goal line fumble.

None of our wins have been convincing at all. I get your looking for a silver lining, but all I see is a team scared of winning

So much this, even though things are bad right now and have been bad for a while.

On a tangent, I also just wish people could go into things without this "I know the truth no matter what you say" attitude that's been so prevalent lately and instead posted with the attitude of "This is what I think, but I could be wrong." If one is just interested in airing their own truth and any dissent is to be shouted down, ignored, or treated as persecution, there are several blog sites out there that allow you do that.

That's just what I think. I could be wrong though. ;)

That's all true UK and I don't think it's negative per se, I just think it's having clear vision and stating a fact. It's when you go on and on in every thread that it becomes negative. I haven't noticed you doing that. A little reality with a soupçon of positive tidbits is OK by me until we have some really positive stuff to talk about like how our D is coming on. Finally.

That may be the case, but have you read the game threads. Or pretty much any article/thread not titled Positives or Non-Vent. It's a big time bummer.

We can also say none of the losses have been convincing at all also.. except maybe the Minnesota game. All the other games, we had a chance to win every single one of them.

When you say we were fortunate to win the three games, how about being unfortunate to lose the 5? I mean, how come when we win its a lucky and when we lose its us sucking? I don't get it..All those games were winnable.

I thnk we've come full circle now (back to ifs and buts) :)

It's hard enough to win games period. By 3 or by 20. I don't think we've lost games because we're a bad team neccessarily. I think we are very young and have a lot of inexperience at key positions. That's not easy to overcome. Lucky to win ? I say the teams that beat us are lucky the refs did them favors but mainly we handed it to them with poor play and dumb mistakes.

Having Sam we are probably sitting at the opposite W-L ratio..... damn ACL's!

Couldn't agree more. No way Sam makes the same under thrown or inaccurate throws Austin has.
Don't even get me started man! lol
I won't lie I'm still hurting badly from the ACL injury, not as much as the preseason but still imagine... sigh

Sam is such a amazing guy and to have seen him overcome everything including injuries and all the naysayers to have a 'normal' season would of been too sweet. I feel for him.

Imagine if the Rams were blown out these last two weeks like the Bears have been. They were down 38-0 at the half against the Pats last week and then yesterday 42-0 against the Pack. There would be anarchy if that had happened to the Rams. Even though we were blown out week one, it was still a game into the 2nd half. Just crazy how a few things going different could make a team 0-9 or 6-3 lol.

hence why I'm trying my best to be positive. a dose of realism every now and again is good for the soul though ;)

Agreed, finally our D is stopping the run and bossing the LOS

Fair point. I wouldn't say we're unfortunate to lose the 5 games though. I get that we have terrible bad calls at the worst times but good teams pull through that and get the W anyway. We crumble and fall... hard.

Wins are hard to come by with this team. I'll take them anyway we can get them .
