OT: James Harrison to the Patriots & the Steelers are butthurt?

The Steelers cut their sack leader Harrison just before the playoffs, and THEY feel betrayed when he signs with the Patriots? wtf?

It's because he asked for the released then signed right away with the Pats.

He wanted to play and they weren't playing him (Steelers)...*shrugs. For you to think badly of him, you would have to believe there was contact between him and the Patriots before his release from the Steelers. It seems to be more likely a serendipity that he was released and then called by the Pats....again, *shrugs

Alright, did some googling and it seems like most of the teammates slamming him for wanting to leave because of playing time, no mention or care for his signing with the Pats. Which, to each their own. I will say that if Harrison is looking to be an every down LB at this stage, he isn't going to be playing for any team very long. To stay in the league as an aging vet you have to be willing to mentor the young guys.

Harrison requested to be cut. They did him the favor of cutting him in order for him to find PT elsewhere, and he chose to sign with their biggest competition. I think it's easy to understand why they're peeved.

*shrugs...They considered him worthless enough to cut, and I don't buy that it was from the goodness of their hearts that they let him go. They let him go because cutting him wasn't perceived as that much of a loss.That may be the company line, but they had to realize that it was a possibility to end up in New England where their defense isn't the best.

They didn't consider him worthless enough to cut. They were doing a favor to a guy who had done a lot for the team because he wasn't getting PT. They could have easily left him on the bench.

All we can judge is their actions, not what they say (or what he said). Their actions said that he wasn't valuable enough to keep, so they did what he asked. Are you telling me that if he was still a top player, they would have just let him go?

No, we have the ability to think critically. The Steelers had no reason to cut Harrison at this point in the year. What we know is that Harrison was unhappy about his playing time and requested a release. LoyalRam, we're both smart enough to connect the dots there.
