Did you mean WR3? Puka and Adams are 1 & 2. Whittington, Mumpfield and Smith are back and have produced. Is Ferguson going to progress enough to be a weapon requiring a big chunk of the targets this year?

Although I wouldn’t mind seeing someone to be groomed to replace Adams in 27, would McVay change his tendency to not play rookies?

ILB is not something the Rams have coveted and I don’t expect that to happen this year, especially not in the first round.
At WR - McVay did play Kupp and Puka in their rookie year

But a rookie who gets little to no snaps will be ready if Alaric goes down week 1? Most all the 1st round tackles are RT or guys a lot around here would prefer to move to Guard
Funny thing, this is why I don’t like the Tackles projected so early as much as I like a couple later on.

I think grabbing a T3 is extremely important in his draft because:
A) the Rams NEED one to be successful. It shows year in and year out.
B) too many people take for granted McClendon will re-sign. If the Rams don’t get a deal done before he hits FA next year, anything can happen.

…but I am seeing guys like Tiernan and Freeling projected well after #13 I would rather have.

I expect the Rams to lock up McClendon before the draft. I think they will want that resolved and known going in.

But if they can’t / don’t get a deal done, RT at 13 becomes a major possibility. Otherwise it’s a day 2-3 item to be addressed (as a swing OT).

I prefer the day 2-3 option.
I would like to see the Rams get a top WR to ultimately supplant Adams on the outside OR a defender who would be capable of replacing someone the Rams are bound to lose in FA in the next year or two. Just my preference, but I would be ok if the Rams went OL at #13. The OL is a bigger issue than most think—just not in the immediate.

If Monroe Freeling is on the board at #13 overall (I don't think he will be), it would make all the sense in the world for the Rams to select him. He plays a premium position worthy of the contract #13 is going to command and it's going to be much harder to find a stud OT on day two.

On the other hand WR, EDGE, ILB (doubtful to be targeted), CB?
There should be plenty good options on day two.

I question if Freeling gets past the Browns at #6 overall.

And Tiernan's 32' 1/4" arms doesn't sound to promising for an NFL OT.
