Craig Dahl and toast come to mind. Cant remember toasts real name, but toast fit him very well.

I remember on the old RealRamsFans board, someone mistakenly asserted that Jake Long should replace Craig Dahl at safety (he meant someone else, but wrote JL's name in). I replied that it wouldn't be worth it because it would have cost a lot more money for only a modest upgrade in coverage ability on the back end.

Been seeing best of each position for Rams kind of posts lately.

But how about a list of worst players at each position.
Rule that had to start at least 4 games at that position. (Or greater maybe?)
Like Lawrence Phillips and Trung Candidate? Or do we go with lower drafted players who never made it at all?

I said started at least 4 games unless the community wants to go with more.
So that includes anyone that met that criteria.

Drew Bennett on line 1....
Unfortunately cannot be counted, 1 GS in the 2 years with Rams 2007 - 2008
I thought getting him and letting Isaac Bruce go was one of the worst decisions ever.

Oh the dude who had decent coverage, but felt he could play corner with his back to the QB. He never, ever turned his head around.

@RamBall did you mean Sehorn?

There were some terrible players during the Haslost and Spags eras. Even vets well past their primes. You could build a whole team right there with the exception of ST.
Sehorn only start 3 games for the Rams. So is a no count for list.

Starting to build a team
QB Ralph Dieter Brock 15 GS (1985)
QB Tony Banks 43 GS (1996 - 1998)
QB Kyle Boller 4 GS (2009)
QB Keith Noll 4 GS (2009)
Need to eliminate one of these QBs , so who stays who goes...

LT Gregory Robinson 42 GS (2014 - 2016)
RT Jason Smith 16 GS (2009 - 2011)

LOLB Brady Poppinga 12 GS (2011)
ROLB David Vobora 34 GS (2008 - 2010)

CB Al Clark 15 GS (1972 - 1975)
CB Charlie Stukes 28 GS (1973 - 1974)
CB Eddie McMillan 38 GS (1973 - 1975)
CB Tye Hill 21 GS (2006 - 2008)

S Craig Dahl 40 GS (2009 - 2012)

K Steve McLaughlin (1995) 8 for 16 50% Avg

Well then, sounds like he deserves an honerable mention.

Not saying current, I meant historically.
Like Tony Banks at QB.
Or Chris Chandler the part deux.
Relative to Tony Banks, Chris Chandler is TB, Roger Staubach, Johhny Unitas and Joe Namath all rolled into one.

That guy fucking sucked from the moment he first stepped on the practice field...

Dieter Brock led us to an 11-5 record and the NFCCG, where we lost to one of the all-time great teams. He doesn’t deserve to be there.
Splitting hairs here but we didn't lose in the championship game, we got demolished.

But your larger point remains...

How can we forget the great Justin King who got burned not once, not twice, but thrice by Torrey Smith for long touchdowns?
I actually thought that King was going to be good.

Oh well- you can’t be right all the time.

Some serious train wrecks in there. Maybe would be cool to do a brief career synopsis of each suggestion.
2009 Where Rams were 1-15 seems to have a lot.

Joe Flopenstien

That 2006 draft was something.

I think we'd have done as well having a blindfolded man throwing darts at a list of eligble draft prospects

Thought Dominique Byrd was worse by far; at least Klopfenstein wasn't a failure off the field as well as on.

Claude Wroten (DT) has to be on the list. Scouts from other teams were literally laughing at us picking him in the third round.
