I don’t think we'll be big players in free agency.

That said, I'd like to see a mid tier CB and an ILB with upside.

CB, Rasul Douglas shouldn't cost much.

ILB, Leo Chanel should also be reasonably priced. He wasn't the starter in KC, but he was a very solid contributor. Like Landman and Parkinson the year before, they could target him as a solid contributor who's ready for a bigger role.

That’s not the way it works. New team would have to pay him north of $36.8 - that’s when it starts to come out of their pocket. Which isn’t happening

I believe if he gets $10M from a new team, it just subtracts from that $38M. So he will make no more money than $38M unless a team wants to pay him more than $38M

Gotcha. I was unaware of that. Thanks

Exactly
Arizona is on the hook for the 38 mill and only gets the relief of what another team pays him

The following Rams positions are up for grabs:
-CB2
-ILB2
-NT2
-WR2 (DAdams is a great possession/red zone weapon but he’s on a pitch count)
-OC (I know McVay likely disagrees but I can dream).
I’d like 2 of these positions filled with quality players via FA. Then off to the Draft for the remainder.

OC is set with Shelton/Limmer, and our OL allowed one sack across three games against the best defense in the league.

Behind Poona we have David and/or Hamilton - and for Hamilton, we liked him so much we traded up last year.

The only ones truly up for grabs right now are CB2, WR3 and swing T - ILB2 could be but only if we add someone, and based on our history there and just having extended Landman, it's probably more likely that we only add a late pick for special teams.

Day one is usually for the monster fish. I can't really see us breaking any news that day. I think it's more likely the we do some subtle one year deals that can help us win.

What's our current cap situation, one site shows 27mil, another at 35 and the rams.com saying 44mil and they mentioned the increased cap space in 26. Im assuming its 27mil since singing a couple of players? I have zero clue

Valid feedback. Amending to reality:

The following key Rams positions are up for grabs:
-CB2
-ILB2
-NT2 or DT2 (need another hungry big dog)
-WR2
-Swing OT

After they sign McDuffie and extend Puka , I'm figuring they'll have about $1.78 left

It’s going to change almost daily for a little while. Take the sites information with a grain-of-salt.

If you really want to track the Rams’ cap space, follow the players listed (and not listed) on the sites, to see if they have been updated.

For example, yesterday OTC had the Rams at $27.4M but had not yet removed Darious Williams. There’s $7.5M of cap relief from his retirement.

OTC and Spotrac are good sites but are not perfect; and, sometimes, not quick to update.

By-the-way, as of yesterday, neither had updated for the Curl or Higbee contracts; and, it’s possible the details of those deals … With the 2026 cap hits … have not yet been publicized.

I would think QB2 is something we need to address too, with Garoppolo being a free agent. My guess is he will end up being resigned by us but you never know.

Agree but if Garoppolo gets an opportunity to play somewhere, and takes it, I sure hope the Rams bring in a competent veteran back-up.

Maybe Andy Dalton.

I feel like Jimmy is going to Arizona for more then we have to spare on a back up.

I know he was pretty terrible last year, but, Geno would be a decent back up for vet minimum. He had a terrible team last year and hopefully wouldn't see the field. I still kind of hold out hope for Murray as our back up. He has talent, just needs to harness it. And again, hopefully wouldn't see the field. Hard to say either isn't at least a solid back up.

Jimmy G strikes me as a guy, now at this point in his life, who enjoys being in LA as a backup making a few million and not getting his face punched in every week.

But maybe he’ll go for one last bite with Laf in AZ. We’ll see.

I agree except, I think there are several teams looking to find their QB of the Future in 2027; and simply want a veteran game-manager / Bridge / stop-gap type to get them through 2026 ... that list could include Miami, the Jets, Arizona, Cleveland and even Pittsburgh if Rodgers doesn't return.

Free agents like Willis and Murray; and Simpson via the Draft could address some of those teams but that's still more teams than quarterbacks.

And ... we shouldn't completely ignore the fact that the New York Dating-Pool could be attractive to Jimmy G!
