I think the obvious answer is George Kittle
The real secret to the 49ers run game? That mther effer
Not to mention that in addition to his addition, it would weaken the biggest threat in the division

The problem with the run game isn't the OL. McVay is playing a power scheme without a lead blocking FB. A WR or even a TE doesn't work because they don't block the same. You need a road grading FB to blow the ILB out of the gap not just try to stand in his way like a WR or TE that a big strong LB can simply shed. If he's going to use a TE then coach him up as a FB. Kyle Markway or Warren Jackson come to mind. As converted TE they would hopefully also be able to be receivers on play action. A FB is often unaccounted for in play action, i.e. he's often not covered.

McVay's run plays are generally piss poor in their design. If you are going to run power then play power for god sake. A power inside run game usually means the OG and center double team one of the DL to open the gap but without a lead FB the ILB is there to make the play and that is exactly what keeps happening. Outside zone doesn't work well against a 7 man box or a stacked box. Thats why I was calling for a power run game in 2020. McVay did go to a power-blocked play but without that lead blocker, you are expecting the RB to break that ILB tackle which is strictly WTF.

McVay designs beautiful pass plays but crap run plays.
I get what you are saying about the lead blocking with WR’s and TE’s and how it’s a big reason why the run game often is subpar. I agree. But I think Mcvay is a pass first mind. Getting WR’s and TE’s in the blocking game also allows for big gains in the pass game using those lead block decoys. So it allows Mcvay to design these critical pass plays that allow for wide open looks.

As for one player - Assuming the Oline stays in tact I go Gilmore or a top CB. Otherwise upgrade Oline.

Think Henry is better, but always wanted to kick the tires on a trade ( 2nd or 3rd) for Chubb from Cleveland, really like that kid. I know its fantasyland, but still fun to think about.

With Woods and Beckham injured the Rams will need a veteran receiver, maybe Jarvis Landry or another receiver?

It’s not likely that they get Skow, Harris or Tutu playing up to Landry’s level.

Deebo.... Imagine teams having to account for him & Kupp and still having Woods/Beckham as well.

Could throw the entire draft then at CB, S, OL and that's it.

I know, just too soon.
He is an awesome player and I know we'd all love him if he was on the Rams.
He has the heart of a Ram. He took that NFC Champ Game loss harder than any other 49. Deebo, come out of the darkness into the light first chance you get.

I’m sorry, as good a player as he is, he’s far too tainted with the stench of Niner land. And we all know that shit don’t wash off easy.

Joey B

Because as we learned leading up to and all during the Super Bowl, Staffords okaaay but Joey B has the advantage in "it factor".

Arm Strength: Stafford
Toughness: Stafford
Talent: Stafford
Experience: Stafford
Clutch: Stafford
"It": Burrow

When you consider how much of it there was and just like knowing Joey B found it and has all of whatever it is, it's really amazing that Stafford found a way to win without OBJ, Woods, Higbee, a run game or any of it.

Aaron Rodgers because I think Rodgers on the Packers represents the biggest obstacle to the Rams repeating.

Then I would put Rodgers in charge of Team cleanses so our QB (Stafford), and top players like Aaron Donald and Cooper Kupp all have healthy poops .
LOL.....
An NFL Network anchor...."Aaron, two questions. How are you liking Los Angeles? And, what is like running the scout team at this point in your career?"

Saw an interesting little article about how QBs that go to their first Super Bowl and lose, don't make it back.
Something like the last 16 Super Bowl QBs who lost their first Super Bowl have not made it back.
