Maybe we need to cut the Washington football club a little freaking credit, eh? Donald was consistently in the backfield, but beyond that, Cousins was pretty comfortable.

Both of their lines were physical and didn't take crap from the Rams. There are some pretty solid players on either side of the ball there. No joke, with what we've seen, they will win the NFC East.

I wanted the Rams to show me more, no doubt, but it seems we're selling the Skins ridiculously short to push the 'Fisher didn't coach this team' narrative. And trust me, I was saying the same thing yesterday. However, on further examination, maybe they're just a pretty good team.
I agree that all the talk of us not being able to beat a shit team is completely selling the skins short. But we still have to beat teams better than the skins if we are really going to be contenders for anything. We'll see just how good that team is or if we simply gave them one of our leave it in the locker room performances. Either way, this team does need to step up and perform like the talent level says they should and like we have seen them play in certain games.

This season is far from over and I just have to hope they pull it together and demonstrate the will to be contenders.

You don't think they will adjust to the way we play defense like the skins did and shorten or just change a few routes as Brown can elevate and jump out of the stadium ? Mix than in with Bell rushing as our defense is easy to read and BR can just change the play at the line from run to pass or vice versa ?

Our LB's are the worst part of this "D" weve built and PFF shows their pass defense #'s. Don't believe me. Tight Ends are another weakness we have in coverage. I'm all RAM and I just need to see it ONCE to Believe this season. My almost 50.00 Mob Squad shirt is suppose to still be on its way. Hope they don't change the shirt I ordered and send me a shirt they redesigned. I want to believe! Will that spanking motivate us?

I think they will try to adjust - which is a good thing. I'd rather that they are changing their game to try and better match up against us than we are changing ours to match up against them.

And I think Tree and McDonald do a very good job on tight ends.

PFF #s mean nothing to me. Nothing at all. I'm no professional, but I can see football just fine without having to assign numbers to the guys playing it.

Glad you feel that way as AO was almost the very worst LB in all of the NFL in pass coverage last season PFF. Our LB's got smoked by same said TE's yesterday and my eyes know what they saw and I have rewind like you do. Its not just one guy amassing these stats in his grandma's basement. They are much closer than not. Ram fans at the game said that McDonald isn't playing up to his game last season. Maybe it was just one game ? We have no other unbiased fact finding group for the NFL that most can agree on. We see the stats and then we can rate the overall facts ourselves. Not like their rating system is different from the rating system the NFL uses. ON QB's I prefer the NFL rating system. Our eyes don't tally up everything and give a fair unbiased score. I know my memory at my age is'nt what it once was. Ben Rothlesberger had a 155.? qb rating yesterday in his 107th steeler win. He's really hot at this time. Its gonna take one hell of a package to cover the WR GROUP and BELL running the ball.

I think the RAMS will give our BEST effort. Wish it was on now.

Such as? Pretend you are Les Sneed - Stan comes to you and says Fisher is out and its up to you to hire me a new coach that get this team a title. You have 7 mill per year as your budget. Who would you bring in?

Anyone? My first call is to Urban Meyer, apparently he was on $5m last year, does he want a rise? Does he fancy the challenge of coaching in the NFL? I'd then make the same phone call to Hugh Freeze. After that you're looking at coordinators for me.

Knock it off with these kinds of posts. There is a no tolerance for this kind of talk on this site.

And yes, of course I'm tired of this - but I'm a Rams fan - and I'm not just a casual fan either - I give these guys at least 30% of my mind share - which considering I have a wife and kids and a business to run is a crapload of my time invested. I think about the Rams during the offseason, during the preseason, and of course - during the regular season. I watch high school and college ball always with an eye on how a guy would fit on the Rams. I don't want to throw around the word obsess - but it kind of fits.

Still, I come back.

Hey 12, i appreciate your Passion" i do, i have the same problem as you do, whats that called when you keep coming back every year expecting a different result?.... oh yeah insanity!

I am a family man as well and like you i look forward to Football Sundays" I have high hopes that all these past rebuilding years are going to come to fruition, so the time is now, for crying out loud the niners are in dissary, the seahawks are reeling from a horrendous call in the superbowl , so if not now when?...

I keep hearing this Team has one of the Best D-Lines in the league if not Thee best? so.. how can you allow a team to run right thru you like you like rice paper?... If your supposed to be the best then play like it, have some pride and make a statement that you are going to be a team that is going to be tuff to beat.

I understand your thought process 12 and justification for how this team plays and i agree with you Fisher is still a better option than what we used to have, im just tired of seeing this team be so inconsistent and am waiting as a lot are to see a string of 3 or 4 wins in a row! to get some momentum going, i know its still early but dont we say that every year?

I have to admit watching bradford do the same things in philly that he did with us the past 5 years its a relief he is gone! watching those interceptions in endzone and high passes brings back painful emotions, i just wonder how long he'll have before philly fans start booing the heck out of him.

No one can really cover Antonio Brown. Let's give up that pipe dream right now. They're going to get him involved.

The key is going to be keeping him relatively contained and out of the end zone.

Bell may still be knocking a little bit of rust off. They can run very effectively as we saw yesterday - the Rams are going to have to do a better job on first and second down making them work a little harder on third down.
Respectfully disagree with the bolded. He is a very good WR but not super human. In the right scheme I like JJ against him and most every other WR in the league. If JJ is allowed to play press man I think he takes Brown out of his game. I would still offer support over the top, early on at least, but by not having JJ line up 10 yards off the LOS I think his skills are much more evident.

Hey, life would be pretty boring if we agreed on everything, right?

No, Brown's not superhuman. But he's as close as a wide receiver in the NFL gets. He's had nine games in a row where he's either caught 100 yards or a TD. He hasn't gone under 5 catches or 70 yards in a year and a half. They get him the ball every way possible, whether that's a screen, a five yard out, a 15 yard crossing pattern or a 40 yard fly route.

I don't think Janoris stands a chance in single coverage to keep from being burnt very badly. I think we're going to need to double him the whole game.

I'm not really disappointed yet at all. My expectations of an 11 win season remain. We NEEDED to be exposed so we could better understand what needs attention going forward and Washington handed us a gift.

There were elements that disappointed me, dropped passes are unacceptable and we are deep enough to bench players for doing it. But, overall, we will need a few weeks to understand who this team is. I don't expect consistent success until after the bye, all smack talk towards other fans aside. And, for the record, I give Kudos to the Skins' O line. That is what you want in an o-line. Cousins just may become a star behind that line concealing his weaknesses.

Beating the Steelers would be a huge indicator to me that the coaches are learning their lessons, but I just don't see winning against that offense at this point.

What we need for certain is a win against the Cards in two weeks. That's a must win so we have an edge on the tie breaker. This is a Rams / Cards race for the top and they are ready while we are still adjusting.

Adding Gurley this week, if all i's are dotted and t's crossed in his recovery, is a must. Not that I think he will change the balance in this game but he needs snaps to be better prepared to really help against the Cards.

Where the hell is Quick?! What is going on with him?! Am I just missing the reports?! :bueller:

I know it sucks to lose to the Skins, I hate it too, but the Rams have to learn who they are and we have plenty of ammo left. The o-line HAS to start performing better.

38-31 Steelers. Sorry, we aren't full speed yet. I think we are watching 75% of who the Rams will be after the bye. Prove me wrong Fish!

Did you know the plowboys OL coach from last season is this years Skins OL coach? I want that guy now. Coach Fisher even tipped his hat to that coach in an article at NFL Network. He said the skins OL was key to loss.

Let these guys catch a few of Chuckies glaring looks a few times, then see how they react.

Honestly, I haven't summoned the strength to go back and break down week 2 yet. And yeah, I think it is closer to one guy in his grandma's basement than it is a professional evaluation - except it's more like 30 guys in their respective grandmas basements.

The real problem is that they don't take context into account. 3rd and 10 - you are covering a guy who gets an 8 yard pass in front of you - you make the tackle and force them to punt and you get a negative grade on the play for giving up the 8 yard completion. Gimme a break.

But I digress. I agree with the sentiment that the Skins are better than many of us thought. No question that the Steelers are for real - so lets get to it this week.

Something is seriously wrong with the run defense...If we don't stop the run, make the Steelers one dimensional, we will lose...Simple as that.

Your a Funny guy. Thanks for your response . Just found out My MOB SQUAD shirt was made and it broke NFL copyright nonsense as @ -X- ordered them. THANKS @X I was one of the lucky ones that made it past Quality Control before the NFL shut them down. Appreciate you supplying us with a very rare RAM item. Now lets CRUSH the steelers anyway possible. No 370 yard game for steelers passing. Coach better have a great plan to stop them . Down goes rothlesberger!!!:oops::rolleyes:

What's wrong is we got out coached. They used 2 and 3 TE sets and just owned the line. It was scheme and we didn't adjust.

Oh, and I'm officially on the Laurinaitis is just terrible in the run game wagon. EVERY SINGLE big run involved him not shedding a block. He contributed exactly nothing to stopping the run. Every "assist" he delivered was to a player on the ground. Even comically so.

I agree. I saw no adjustment made to what the Skins were doing. They ran all over the Rams and the D-line could not get to the QB.

The one thing that gives me hope in terms of covering the Steelers WRs is that their pass plays are often pretty far downfield. This isn't a quick hitter offense - they take a few seconds to let their routes develop and generally, Ben gives them the time they need by moving around a bit.

We just need to collapse the pocket a little earlier than they are used to.

No question about it, if Ben has all day to pass we are in big trouble.
Our D line and DB's are the story line here. They play well we can win.

They don't, we probably lose.

They scored 7 points in the second half so yes, we made adjustments. Maybe not enough but we did. And we dropped a lot of passes that could of extended drives.

And you know what I think is one of the biggest things that happened? -In the 4th quarter with about 7 minutes to go they had 3rd and 15 and we jump off sides. So now it's 3rd and 8 and they get 9 and go on to score. If that doesn't happen We get the ball back only down 7 and lots of time. I think that small error is much bigger than it seemed at the time.
