Did anyone see the jags defensive player rip whitworths helmet right off because he was pissed and the refs just let it happen right in front of them?
Seems like the refs have blinders on when it comes to some things. And it's annoying AF
yeah i did.. but earlier in the year Deayon got called for a "face mask" after a play do something similar.

The consistency on calls like that are an utter joke- there is no real system for it.

We are 13 weeks into the year, standing over someone looking down at them is going to get a flag 90% of the time. Everyone should know that by now and be smart enough not to do it. Just walk away and if you want to say something wait until you’re lined up across from them the next time.

A lot of inconsistency but these guys get a lot right too working in a crazy environment.

Glad they got the roughing call on the hit to Stafford. I was surprised we didn’t get one on the hit to Lawrence’s chin.

The players know that shit is coming, they just have to play through it.

There were 28 total flags thrown in our TG game against the raiders. TWENTY-EIGHT. That's just unwatchable football when you blow every other play dead. The refs need to be held accountable.

I think the NFL needs to start slamming these refs in their weekly grading when they flag ticky tack bullshit that reverses huge plays in the game. That should NEVER happen. In fact the lead ref needs to pick up those types of flags.

Also re: Donald the guy is held on almost every play. I mean it's snap after snap guys have their arms out in a hug on him as he's past them and he rarely gets calls. McVay needs to work the refs better on this plain and simple. Working the refs is an art form for head coaches. There's a big difference between the best at it and the worst. McVay's a young coach. He needs to be on these guys and making them think about AD being held so they're watching for that shit.

And whenever AD gets those calls he tends to go off because they stop holding as much. So yeah it's a coach thing IMO that should be part of the gameplan each week.

McVay is smart not to draw fines and attention to bad officiating because it will come back to haunt a coach. But I'd love to be a fly on the wall when he reviews plays with officials on a weekly basis. Other coaches do it too. I just want to know what the responses are from the NFL. I bet after 50 clips of AD being held and the officials saying, yeah we missed that one...it's really only lip service and what then is a coach to do?

I just wish they called them all. then the players and coaches would stop doing them as part of the "do it till they call it" culture. Belicheat started it and I hate it. I think like with everything Belicheat, it pushed to the edge of the rules and now it is acceptable to hold as long as you let go quick enough, or they don't see it. I know it is how our culture is, but if we played by the rules instead of always testing them, it would be a much more enjoyable game.

taunting calls have often been horrible...

holding is a difficult one however... maybe if they made it a 5 yard penalty instead of a 10 - maybe it would get consistently called more.

the way it its now... its such a severe penalty and gets called randomly.
I think offensive lineman should be forced to wear a kind of boxing glove, but without thumbs. And let them do whatever the hell they want to the defensive linemen. Then we might even be able to retire the offensive holding penalty altogether.

But it was the cowboys and raiders, they probably could have called 56 penalties

So, I'm watching games yesterday and I see holding penalties on ticky tack stuff but on the overturned sack by Donald, the lineman is behind AD with a chokehold...no call. I see Rochelle making legal contact within 5 yards and gets called for holding yet, though I'm glad the Seahawks beat the Niners, a Hawk DB CLEARLY interferes incessantly in the end zone and doesn't draw a flag.

I swear, there is no rhyme or reason to how teams can get a baseline as to what is legal and what is not. Referees are the one inconsistent factor that ruins my ability to enjoy watching a game in the NFL.
They call the game exactly the way Rodger wants it called, they are perfect for this league.

Like most State and federal laws and regulations, the NFL rules are vague and subject to interpretation. I agree with Vrabel as the NFL gave a poor explanation concerning timing, which is not in the rule.

If the NFL wanted to defend their call, they could have said tucking the ball and turning up field was not completed. Conversely, if it was ruled a fumble the NFL could have ruled two feet and lateral movement constitute a football move.

It'll take FAR too long, but eventually, the NFL will get to uniformity if for no other reason than the broadcasters will have so much technology that they will have a harder and harder time steering outcomes late in the season...

Once we see uniform calls... likely from computers and an AI system, the game will enter a Golden Age.

Right now the greedy bastard owners only care about money from this year... so short sighted!!!

There has to have been a discussion with officials and the league regarding Aaron Donald. He gets held all the time and they don't call it.

If they did that there were would be no QBs left lol
