So fired up that we won yesterday, I'll always take the win over the better draft position. Better draft position only makes your choices more limited--if you have a top 3 pick, there's no way you're going to pick a WR, OG or CB with that pick. It also depends on how well you scout / draft--I'll bet Detroit wishes they could've picked A. Donald now when they picked just ahead of us in 2014. I'll bet MOST of the teams that picked ahead of us would change their minds on A.D.!! But it just so happens we're now in need of a franchise QB, and a top 3 pick would get us one. But, again, it all depends on how well you scout / draft / trade--if there's a QB worth it, and we know he's going top 5 or so, I fully trust Snead will go after him with a good trade up package offer & get him, regardless of our draft position. Winning a couple more games actually shows that, as a whole, we're only a good QB & WR combo away from making the playoffs every year for the foreseeable future. Just ask the Patriots how their poor draft position every year has worked out for them....
The Titans will be that team someday soon, with Mariota and DGB, but they're not there yet--they picked very high in this last draft, and though MM & DGB look promising, their team as a whole still needs so much work. IOW, if you're picking high, you have so many more problems than just needing a franchise QB.
Tampa picked high & got Winston, but already had Evans & Martin in the fold, and the results show. We are actually very similar teams at the moment, but their Winston / Evans combo is just a bit more dangerous than our Gurley / Austin combo at the moment.
All that said, give me the "meaningless win" every time over the better draft position. Every time. A win is always "meaningful"--it means your team is getting better.
