I started yelling when, I think it was Barber but, one of the announcers mentioned that when you hold looked that, they'll call it every time. I was thinking (and shouting) what fucking game are you watching? They've been holding like that all day... And last week. And the raiders game... And the Atlanta game last year...

Edit for auto correct.

I was SHOCKED that they called the hold on the Seattle OL who held Suh at the end.

Totally shocked as so many bigger holds went uncalled...
Seeing more holding on runs.
If a back is running by the guy being held, directly taking a tackle away in that case, they've been calling it.

I just wish everybody weren't so blatant about it. All season so far, every last game...you can look at Donald and/or Suh and see a guy with his arm wrapped around their neck, hugging them from behind, pulling their jerseys off, etc. and not a flag one gets thrown. Hell, the TV stations use some of the plays as highlights to show how the offensive lineman has been "doing a good job controlling" the line.

I will ask again - Does the Rams OL use a similar technique of borderline but legal holding? We may just have to accept this as the norm going forward.

If I were AD or Suh, I'd have to come up with some kind of throat chop/jab to get them off of me. It's gotten ridiculous how blatant the holding has gotten against our DL.

I haven't seen a single play where a Rams lineman had a chokehold on an opposing D-lineman trying to get to Goff. The Ras should allow AD and Suh tp wear tear away jerseys to make point.

That chokehold on Donald on the bomb during the Seahakws final drive was so out in the open and so ridiculous that there is no way they just missed it.

Yep. And ONCE AGAIN... McVay needs to lose his ever-lovin $#!T in a post-game rant over the way his defensive front is held every stinkin game. It's been going on since game one and it's time for him to call these bozos on their BS.

If you want to change the rules to allow holding, do it. If not, make the obvious MFing calls. That's the gist of what he needs to say in the media IMO.

Maybe this is just the NFl's response to low ratings and bad pr, the equivalent of juicing the ball to create more offense.

i honestly dont think he is the type ...i think outwardly he is a positive guy and takes ownership of any issues and instills that to his team

Untimely penalties end Seahawks' hope of toppling Rams

TIM BOOTH (AP Sports Writer)
The Associated Press•October 8, 2018

With two untimely penalties, Seattle's plans of a late comeback fell apart. And instead of making the NFC West a race, the Seahawks already trail the Rams by three games after Los Angeles' 33-31 victory on Sunday.

Needing just a field goal to take the lead, the Seahawks were already in range forSebastian Janikowski. A few more yards, milk some time off the clock and Seattle would have had a chance at a field goal to knock off the Los Angeles Rams.

With two untimely penalties, Seattle's plans of a late comeback fell apart. And instead of making the NFC West a race, the Seahawks already trail the Rams by three games after Los Angeles' 33-31 victory on Sunday.

''Russell, his way to make big plays, put us in a position to win and in the end we get knocked out of field goal range with a penalty. Really disturbing that that happened at that time,'' Seattle coach Pete Carroll said.

Seattle was more than a touchdown underdog at home to arguably the best team in the league. Thanks to a rejuvenated run game led by Chris Carson and his 116 yards, and three TD passes from Wilson, Seattle gave itself a chance in the fourth quarter to knock the Rams from the short list of unbeaten teams.

After Cairo Santos hit a 39-yard field goal to give Los Angeles a 33-31 lead, it took just two plays for Wilson to get Seattle in field goal range. He hit Tyler Lockett for 44 yards to the Rams' 32. There was less than 5 minutes remaining and Seattle was in perfect position to pull the upset.

A false start penalty against Germain Ifedi came first, although it appeared Seattle would have been called for delay of game if not for the early movement. But the most damaging penalty came on second-and-13, when D.J. Fluker was called for holding against Ndamukong Suh. The Seahawks were suddenly facing second-and-23 outside of field goal range and after two straight incompletions - one batted down by Cory Littleton - the Seahawks were forced to punt with 3:38 remaining.

Seattle never saw the ball again. Fluker didn't agree with the holding call, although on replay it appeared he had a clear tug on Suh's shoulder.

''They called a penalty. It cost us the game. I don't think it was a penalty,'' Fluker said. ''But at the end of the day, we all played hard. We all played physical.''

Carroll was upset about the flag.

''We ran the ball 32 times on the day, they ran it 30, there were 60-something runs in the game and it comes down to, 'We're going to throw the flag right there,' and unfortunately it happened. They got a great break out of that,'' Carroll said. ''It was a great break for them. I haven't seen the play. There's a lot of plays in that game that probably could have warranted a penalty throw and it happened on that play right then. It really pissed me off that that was how this thing ended. It's unfortunate.''

Carroll's clock management was also debated. He called timeout with 1:39 remaining after the Rams came up short on third-and-1 at their 42-yard line. Preserving the clock seemed the wise choice, but it also allowed Los Angeles a chance to reconsider its options after initially sending out the punt team. The Rams ended up going for it on fourth-and-1 and Jared Goff converted the QB sneak to clinch the victory.

The Seahawks tried to find a few positives before their trip to London to face the Raiders next weekend.

''This could be a turning point. For us to go against an offense, or a team like that because they have a stacked defense, and give them their hardest test to this point in the season really shows just where we're at,'' safety Bradley McDougald said.

want to laugh? read these comments by a nimrod supporter.

The Call that was given by refs for PI to ther rams that resulted into touchdown, was a bogus call, and I felt the whole time the refs were in favor of the Rams, however aside from that, rams were are strong, and it was a very entertaining game and for the first time, in 2 years, I see Hawks going back to the core and it seems they have a good D and getting up there in Offense which is can make hawks SB caliber team and back to the game, on the other hand, it does not matter if you are 12-0 or 11-1 team like KC and Rams, when it comes to play offs, it goes all out the door and when you hit Patriots, Steelers or even Hawks and to SB caliber teams, they will eat you alive, Rams, KC, etc, with all that power, do not see them having it, just like last year, only time will tell
