okay folks,

trying to set up a draft sportsbook for the 57th pick and I am stumped on the odds to set on the Rams trading up or down

I am thinking along the lines of 25/1 they trade the pick. Does this sound reasonable to you draft pros?

I doubt the Rams trade down. They are looking to draft impact players such as Akers last year. It is hard enough to do that in the bottom end of the second round. I expect them to ID their top impact players and take one, assuming any of their preferred players are still available.

Imo it would take an unusual set of circumstances, such as tremendous depth at a particular position position (e.g. CB), plus no single player they really want above or compared to several others still there at 57, for the Rams to trade down.

#57 is already pretty-deep into the 2nd Round.

If the Rams trade-down, the extra pick may not be until Round Four (Day 3).
Agree though that if he can trade back to the top of round 3 and get a pick at the top of round 4, he moves the pick. Gets you another pick in that top 110 or so and reality is there is not a big diff in the player your taking in the 55-60 range vs the guy you can get at pick 100.... especially if you have great faith in your scouting dept.

Great topic @RhodyRams.

After reading the post I changed my odds from 2-1 to 4-1. If it were an earlier pick, it could be the 2-1 but picking 57 will be hard enough to get what the Rams need in a possible year one starter/major contributor.

Honestly @RhodyRams I’m thinking somewhere between 2/1 but in honesty if I’m betting I’m taking the bet Snead does move from the pick.

I sincerely doubt he stays there @57 regardless if it’s up or down.

Trade down makes a lot of sense. There's a big group of players from that range we're at there at 57 on into round 3 who look pretty similar. Lot of real nice names in that range.

But I'm fine with them pouncing on a guy they love too. Those tend to be the best picks IMO. If a guy they love is there by all means sprint to the podium. We need as many impact guys as we can get in this draft strategy they're running.

I just get the sense that this draft is deep and there's already a schism between teams draft boards and the media's every year.

Generally there's a correlation between teams boards and the medias when it comes to where the depth lies in the draft but not on the rankings of the players.

I think there are too many options at CB, offensive line, and WR/returner for the Rams to not trade back from 57 and get someone they like.

The only scenario I see where they stay is if it's an Edge they like at that spot since it's not a deep class there.

I don't expect them to even sniff at DL this draft as it's widely regarded as a horrible class and they're high on the undrafted guys they have from last year.

I think there's some other guys they simply take too. Like Radunz. IMO he is a LT in this league. Not so sure about Jenkins, I suspect he's a RT same with Cosmi but who knows what the Rams think. Walker Little too might factor in.

I would take Asante Samuel immediately as well if he's there. Any guy really who slides too much just take him unless he's a RB.
