Yes people are already beginning to write him off. Unfortunate for the young man to have Rams fans abandon him already.
I'm still on board. I love the talent. He's just got a bit of glass to him.

I loved Danario Alexander well past it was time to give up on him though, so I may not be a good bellwether though.

He was one I never got behind unlike Lewis, but then I guess I knew more of him than Lewis prior to joining the Rams.

didn't know that about A.Robinson @oldnotdead , not even shown on our roster anymore, wow... was really hoping he'd pan out.
waiting 'til Wednesday also does not portend well. that really stinks. I was excited about Lewis, I still hope he can play this season but it's beginning to look doubtful.

Go Rams

doh wrong tweet Jrry linked it. The nfi list it is.

Man love his potential but hated the pick especially with who else was on the board. Now we have to continue for at least 3 weeks without him like we didn’t even draft him or that that draft pick when we could have a starter at ILB.:mad:

Guys going to be out team shorter than Gurley was for sure!

Actually this is good news all around for the kid.

Great news!! Also a freak event-- fear of infection from a prior injury?? It will be interesting to hear a little more on the medical front, but apparently this is NOT a new injury.

We need Lewis and A'Shawn back as soon as possible for this D to really hit full stride and reach its potential. A'Shawn to fully power up the run D, Lewis to provide a major physical force at OLB. They will not just be more depth, but imo good enough to take the D to another level.

Interesting follow up from Stu Jackson on Twitter. Apparently because we put him on the NFI list after the season started, he's eligible to come back in week 4 not week 7.

Ok. If it's an infection that they've gotten under control, then that's actually a better deal than it being some sort of structural or ligament damage, right?

They can get him through this and back up to speed probably fairly quickly to see if he can contribute.

McVay says “it’s as positive as it could be” under circumstance. That is the spot that Calais will take.

OK so no infection which is good.

McVay doesn't say what it was/is/ or what procedure TLew had. I'm lead to think he had some kind of swelling with maybe some amount of pain. We are still in the dark as to what is going on. The Rams/McVay don't owe us a complete explanation so we will have to wait and see how long it takes TLew to get back on the field. For now, it looks hopeful he will be back sooner than later.

Lewis has been placed on IR. But it may be the shorter version of IR, not the long version. IDK. But this isn't a huge surprise. Injuries were always the knock on him.

EDIT: Make that the NFI List. Six weeks until he can practice.

Lewis will be eligible to return after three games (assume the time on the NFI must have begun with discovery of a potential problem.) Also no infection was found. Lewis apparently just needs time to recover from the procedure, imo likely some form of minor surgery.

From the Rams site:

Rams place Terrell Lewis on Reserve/Non-Football Injury list

Stu Jackson
Staff Writer

THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. – The Los Angeles Rams have placed rookie outside linebacker Terrell Lewis on the Reserve/Non-Football Injury list. Lewis is eligible to return after three games.

Speaking with reporters prior to today's practice, Rams head coach Sean McVay said Lewis was placed on Reserve/Non-Football Injury list due to atrophy from a knee procedure Lewis underwent one and half weeks ago. The procedure was done because of infection concerns from a previous procedure. No infection was found, but the atrophy from the most recent procedure prompted the team to place Lewis on the list.

"Fortunately, we thought it could potentially be some worse stuff, (but) it came back ok," McVay said. "It's as positive as it could be given the circumstances."

This is great news. and don't fret @Corbin, even if we did get a different, more "healthy" player with that pick, there's absolutely no guarantee that pick would have been a starter game 1 anyway. Gotta work the rooks in slow. Even did this with Gurley iirc.
