In all fairness though, those nail-biter games are tough to write for sports journalists. They're under tight deadlines (especially with the delay) and they don't know how the game is going to end. And of course who wins determines which "slant" the article has right? Try to write a 300 word article on a game, in about 10 minutes, and you'll find it's not so easy. I'm sure she had two versions written up, depending on how the game turned out, and in her haste to get it posted she just messed up the copying and pasting from one to the other. Shouldn't have happened, don't get me wrong, but I get how it happened.
