I loved watching the game. A good defensive battle is just as exciting as a shootout.

The game was not as bad as it seemed. I watched it a few times. The thing that makes me most angry is the Pats got away with too much, just like in the first Super Bowl match. The Rams knew they would be physical as they were against the Greatest Show On Turf, but they did not fight back, now 2X in a row. I'm surprised the Rams were not throwing punches.

Rams were the most penalized team throughout the playoffs with -104 net yards. In the SB, -65 yards (not to mention the yards taken away like Gurley's 13 yard run and Coleman's bogus call, which gave the Pats 60 more yards by extending that drive). That is similar to 140 yards, like a free TD and field goal for the Pats.

And why do the Pats always get favored by the refs? I'm glad that no-call happened vs the Saints. Maybe the league will do something about this and it will level the playing field for teams that consistently get the short end of the stick.

In last year's SB, the Pats were only called for 1 penalty for 5 yards! Last year the Pats were +143 Net Yards in playoffs and +200 in regular season (Most in NFL) for a total of +343 net yards! How many points is that, about 4 TDs?

In 2016 playoffs the Pats also had the most beneficial net penalty yards of all teams with +76 net.

It would be easier to forget if the game was called fairly. I wish we lost fair and square, but we did not. Against a team that always gets the benefit of the refs, the Rams would need to play lights out to overcome it, but in this game, they only matched the Pats, so that is why they lost. Some say we lost fair and square, but if you change the calls so they were correct, we would have won or tied the game.

I hope McVay is watching the film over and over too. If he just moves on and does not study it, he won't learn anything. Sometimes it's better to linger in the past for a while. I hope something can be done about the officiating in football because it's ruining the game. We need more robots involved.

Rams 260 + 71 = 331

Pats 407 - 60 = 347

Pats only had ball 6 more minutes than Rams and this would have been equalized also. Pats were also given 4 first downs on ticky tack calls to extend their drives, yards and TOP. Rams only got 1. If not for refs, the final score and final stats would have been about the same. That's why it's hard to forget.

The positive is McVay has more film to learn from and to make this team stronger.

I haven’t even looked at the box score let alone highlights. It’s going to take a while to get over it.

My buddy is a Broncos fan and it took him three years to watch the highlights of the Super Bowl blowout vs Seattle. It stings for a long time especially for players. But we will be back. I can promise you that.

Okay so I guess I can tone it down.....but I did pull a Asshole Face. Sat around all day Monday in my pajamas as if I was sick, watching Netflix. Avoiding news. Avoiding people.

All I could think was...."Damn, we just did that in front of the whole country. America was depending on us. I didnt wanna lose this game, not like that"

As you can see, Goff could have easily out-passed Brady in this game. Also, Goff would not have tossed that INT because that play never would have existed!

Still wrapping my head around what I witnessed. Did I see our questionable defense hold Brady to 13 points (unheard of)? Did I see our elite coach and QB look totally inept?

Really frustrating man. To get to the final game and put out that effort. And I’m talking about the O. The PATs were beatable and we crap the bed.

What I’ll have a rough time getting over till next season.

Having said that— SB 36 was much, much worse.

For me, 34 cured my disappointment at 14.

And I might get over 53 someday.

I'm still not over all the reffing. Some Rams' fans don't realize how unfair the game was called.

I found a video that talks about this illegal trip on Gurley on the first play of the game. If you watch it live, you'll see he was clearly tripped, yet another first down we should have had on a blatant penalty.

In the next image you'll see blocking our receivers (Reynolds) beyond 5 yards. I bet there are many of these. This was 3rd down, should be a first.

Here is McVay's "WHATTTTTT????" when they called Roby Coleman for hitting the defenseless receiver. McVay knows we were cheated. In his interview he mentioned the phantom hold on Gurley's run, and he knows this is a BS call too.

The game was tied into the 4th quarter. They scored 10 more points, we didn't. I'm over it, No excuses.

FWIW I knew the calls were going to go against us, with what happen against the Saints and when it's judgment, it always goes for the Patriots....I have been off the grid of social media with the exception to message boards and have turned my attention to the Dodgers & Lakers to assist in submerging the hurt.

Driving while listening to Sirius has been all music all the time besides the playlist as well and at the office everyone has invited themselves into my professional domicile offering condolences along with Patriot fans including the V.P. not saying anything related to football....The hurt will never leave, but family time along with trying to ignore everything related to football, assists in the grieving period, which you never truly get over as a fanatic.

Yup that sums it up.

Brady was clutch in the 4th, that cannot be denied. Both teams had chances to make plays, both teams had several drives and opportunities. Brady came through on two drives.

Talking about the refs is a waste of time. It always is IMO. Had the Rams pulled out a win Patriots fans would be posting screenshots of holding no calls and PI no call and all the rest.

Had the Saints managed to try an onside kick after the FG and recovered it and scored to win the game would anyone be talking about the terrible no call on the PI/helmet to helmet?

Nope, because the only time you hear fans complain is when their teams lose. And when they hear opposing fans complain about how the refs calls won the game they call other fans crybabies. It's the oddest thing in sports. Every singe fan base has many fans like this.

Watch the Rams OL. They hold as much as any other OL does. DB's in the league ALL get grabby.

I find it hilarious that so many people think the refs are out to get the Rams for some reason. They just got to the SB and were within reach of winning, they won more games than any other team in the entire league.

I am beyond happy with this season,
That loss sucked but I was over it the nex day .

Obviously I would of loved the SB win but I like watching the natural progression of teams . This team will be back and mcvay will be ready!

Also I think there is a better chance of whitworth and other vets coming back next season for the win!
