If a guy the caliber of Kosar is a hero to your franchise that is a sad, sad state of affairs. The last time Cleveland had a great run as a football organization Elvis was still skinny. To see these clowns embrace a drunken embarassment like Kosar speaks to both their understanding as football fans and to their intelligence level. Kosar was not entertaining. If I want to listen to a marble mouthed drunk wax on about the Browns I can go to my local sports bar. Most fans express their fandom in moronic ways. Cubs fans (in the city of Chicago anyway), deep deep down, dont want the Cubs to win. It is much easier to hang onto the "lovable loser" self image. Its the same reason idiot SF Giants fans get off of chanting "beat LA" when they have 2 out of the last three World Series....they never evolve beyond that. Its no different with Browns fans. They love to lose and to claim to be the victims of bad luck or cursed. No. The Browns organization is just terrible. No more explaination needed. If the owners of the team enjoy having someone so unprofessional represent their team and not even be able to stay sober doing it, that tells you all you need to know about where the Browns are and where they are going.
HUH?
Ratigliano, Shottenheimer, Brian Sipe, those guys were good and Elvis was dead or dying.
Ratigliano had a 47-50 career record and was 2-2 lifetime in the playoffs.
Shottenheimer did get Cleveland to 2 AFC Title games. A good short run for him in Cleveland.
Sipe was an average QB on mostly good teams.
Im talking about competing for NFL Titles, having a run. The last time they did that seriously was the 50s.
Much like the LA Rams of the 70s and 80s playing in a bunch of Confernce Title games and losing doesnt make you great, just another also ran.
Tired of Browns fans acting like their team is special. It is anything but.
