Coming from left end, he has 2 TEs in front of him, just before this he turns his head and I am sure he;s told to slant and take on the RT,

He steps inside . . .

And blows the ever-living shit out of RT

he fights off what may be a hold

and the outside help arrives and Westbooks makes the tackle. That's a pro bowl play

Yeah that was a really nice play, some next level production too. I hope those types of plays keep coming more and more frequently in the next two weeks, as DL overall has to be on point against both the 9ers and Seahawks.

Thanks for putting all those up, btw. It's nice to see in that medium.

Lane Johnson got away with a few grabs of Westbrook. On another play, he grabbed him by the horse collar as he got past him and was coming after Foles to slow Westbrook down. Didn't get called.

It is scaring me how much we are getting held and not getting help from the refs. Is this happening elsewhere?

Yes it is happening all over. I am guessing that the refs were told not to call much holding to balance out the tighter restrictions on the DBs. More BS meddling.

Can you imagine how bad it must really be, because I'm sure there's quite a bit we're not seeing. And we're only watching 1-out-of-16 games per week. Yeah, it's bad.

In watching some other teams and games, it looks like they just aren't calling it much. My guess is they want more scoring so they'll let them hold to give the QB more time.

Great post @Blue and Gold....I am loving what I see outta Westbrooks....I'd get him more snaps too....Definitely in Brockers & Langfords positions...Push there asses. Light a fire under them....Let Donald and this kid play...They obviously are difference makers...Langford is good for 1 tackle a game...Brockers 1/2.....Carrington, is he still on the team?

http://www.nflpenalties.com/penalty/offensive-holding?year=2014

2014: 1.28 avg. offensive holding penalties per game all NFL teams
2013: 1.10 avg.

So overall a fraction more offensive holding penalties so far despite what it looks like. Maybe it's just the holds are more blatant and refs should be calling even more, but aren't?

Another explanation to why it appears the Rams are getting screwed on holding:
2014: Rams opponents had 1.38 offensive holding calls per game -- 4th most.
2013: Rams opponents called for 1.25 per game. Not too much less, but now just 15th most.

Makes sense that our better D-line should be getting held more and draw more holding calls. We aren't getting more calls than average now. Maybe we got spoiled last year by better officiating (or competent officiating)?

It makes you wonder if they're Talking about this at the owners meetings that are going on this week!!

Whose getting held by the right guard, Herremans? Is that Donald or Brockers, looks like it could be 99 or 90?
