.

Damn it, I'll be working during the game. I'll have to watch it when I come home. Hopefully game pass will have taken all the commercials out by then.

God this narrative was so annoyingly bad. Yes he's going to throw some picks due to his aggressive nature and I can live with that. But 41TDs/17ints is a good ratio.. especially when other QBs like Allen, Herbert, and Carr all threw two less INTs with 15, yet nowhere close to 41TDs. Stafford hardly gets fooled, and a handful of the INTs I think we can credit to his 1st year in the system and lack of chemistry with WRs down the field. I mean people forget it was his first year with Kupp and McVay because we won the SB. But look at how amazing he was in the playoffs taking care of the ball. 11TDs/3ints in the playoffs and a Lombardi!? With three consecutive come from behind 4th qtr wins. But..but..but.. Tart dropped a pick. Stafford is so fucking good man let the haters hate. ARob is gonna go nuts 90/1200/10 this year with Stafford just watch.
It's not a narrative, it's who Stafford is.

He's tied for fourth on the all-time pick-six list.. and is the active leader by 8 over Matt Ryan.. and has 9 more than Tom Brady.

He throws ints.. it's part of his QB DNA... and I wish they were all because of being aggressive. The reality is that he throws some brain-cramp balls. It's who he is.

Now.. he can also make fucking brilliant throws.. and lead a team to a Super Bowl win with only one starting WR... So, I'll take him.

The Elbow Issue must be real. Just a week ago, on ESPN's Get Up, the Experts spoke:

Dianna Russini said: "Stafford is very frustrated with the pain."

Jeff Saturday said: "On a scale of 1-to-10, the concern over Stafford's elbow is a 12"

THESE are the Experts, with the Inside Information. LISTEN TO THEM!!!!!

The narrative was Stafford couldn't have been very good because he lead the league in picks. Which is 100% wrong.

And you're confusing "who he is" with who he had to be in Detroit. If he didn't ball out every game in Detroit, they had no chance to win. That means, make every throw, fit into every tight window, throw 50/50 balls consistently, take chances to try and score, etc. He had to do those things. He had no running game, no defense, and bad coaching. Their entire fortune relied on him making every difficult and aggressive throw.

Last year it was a process, but McVay coached some of that out of him. I mean look at how excellent he played down the stretch and into the playoffs. 11/3 td-int ratio in the postseason. In this offense and for this team, Stafford didn't have to make every single throw, win every single game on his own. He has a brilliant coach, two solid RBs, and a great defense that can win games on their own. I don't subscribe to "thats just who he is." He's too smart for that. He is aggressive by nature yes, but because he's absolutely had to be for a decade +. This year I bet he takes better care of the ball.

Yeah but, Stafford led the league in INT’s last year with 17 !!

Never mind that he threw 41 TD’s
That's Right!! Meanwhile were up shits creek facing a stud in Allen who threw
36 freakin td's and only a few int's.

few= another word for 15

I’m really not confused at all.

His int rate.. pick 6s… consistent through line in his career.

Has the occasional brain cramp.. had one in NFC championship game, fortunately, Tartt dropped it.

I have a very clear understanding AND appreciation for Matthew Stafford.

Lazy analysis by you. If you don’t think he had to push the envelope more in Detroit you’re insane. If he didn’t take care of the ball so well in the playoffs I’d maybe agree with you, but his decision making improved and the INTs went down. Not to mention two of the three playoff INTs were Van and Skows fault clearly.

Honestly wish that the first 2 games were reversed. Falcons first to tune up our team (with starters) and then the Bills after we worked the kinks out on a arguably not good team. This game has be very nervous. The Bills did play their starters some in the preseason and by all accounts, were excellent. Really just hoping we don't come out rusty because against a team as potent as the Bills, that might be enough for them to pounce. However, the Bills missing their best defender (T.White), having a newish right side of their OLine, missing McKenzie, likely missing their stud Safety Poyer, and starting a rookie CB on either Kupp or ARob, and I like our chances. Those CB's don't scare anyone, particularly with the bosses we have out there at WR.

I want the Rams defense to shut down Josh Allen and the Bills offense so badly.

It’s getting tiresome listening to Bills fans going on and on about the great Josh Allen. Some are even calling him a unicorn

It’s not lazy. It’s honest.

People want to quantify his ints as “taking chances”, or “being a gunslinger”… and from what I saw… that’s bullshit. He threw some really poorly thought out passes.

It’s okay to observe faults in a guy’s game.

He had bad luck with some ints and some good luck on some bad throws.

I CALL BS!! It was a known FACT Stafford took chances that maybe he shouldn’t have.

Whatever his issue was it was a combination of 3 things.

1. Kevin O’Connel(Mcvay)
2. His arm(?) which as we see now might have been part of the problem.
3.Being a gunslinger & taking chances & poor reads.

The 3 INT’s in 3 games was solely on Bradford or say a WR(Higbee) not making a play.

IMO #1 problem is GONE!
#2 problem should help with the rest & precaution.
#3 Tutu Atwell will get to a couple of the Deep Balls & Stafford being able to trust he will get there & or adjust.

IMO Tutu scores on 5 deep TD passes ,however that looks?

All & All IMO The playcalling (first 15)
& concepts will help.

Stafford will always go for it.IMO once again down & distance has to ALWAYS be The Number 1 thing when making some of those throws.

Agreed. He got hot in the playoffs, which is something Flacco has done.

His passer rating last year was literally below average and they played an incredibly weak schedule.

Their defense got torched anytime they played an NFL caliber QB, which was only a handful of times.

This narrative that they have talent all over the field is tiring. They had a VERY mediocre pass rusher last year...they're relying on Miller to be the guy, but he doesn't have AD....hell he doesn't even have a Bradley Chubb on that team. They can't run the ball and they have one above average WR.

This time we won't be playing them the second of two east coast trips and McVay has never started 0-2 against a team.
