So the last time a #1 scoring offense played a #1 scoring defense in the CCG, the Seahawks beat Green Bay 28-22 in OT. Of course that was Green Bay with Rodgers, the great regular season QB!!! Green Bay led that game 16-0 at the half but #12 went 7 of 13 for 63 yards in the second half. Green Bay had three 3 and outs, a 4 and out and 2 drives that ended with FGs. Seattle came back to tie and send it to OT. Rodgers never touched the ball in OT. Stafford is not Rodgers.
Russell Wilson turned it over 3 times in the first quarter of that game and GB only converted one of them into a touchdown. They were up 16-0 at the half and it felt like it should’ve been 31-0. I think that loss might be the most painful of the Rodgers era playoff losses for GB fans.

I've heard all this talk about the Seahag D'line ALL WEEK. You know what I haven't heard anyone say?:

IN THOSE TWO GAMES BETWEEN THE RAMS AND THE SEAHAGS...THEY NEVER SACKED STAFFORD!!!

Now...I know today they *could* sack Stafford..but...I wonder why they haven't said that. Could it be they DON'T WANT TO GIVE THE RAM OLINE THEIR DUE???
Actually Stafford was sacked once in game 15. Both teams played clean game 10.

Not according to the stats I'm seeing. For both games zero sacks for the Seahags. Furthermore, earlier I was saying no one had mentioned all week that the Seahags never sacked Stafford in the two games...but ESPN finally said it a bit ago.

Offensively we have the unit that can take on this excellent Seattle defense. Their strength is when they need a score, Stafford can manufacture completions with his no look throws and arm strength. Only thing that can counter that is quick pressure. And the run game threat is there, meaning the OL can fire off and dictate a bit too. So I think if the OL has a strong day the offense is going to perform well and create enough snap volume to wear them down. If not, we go home.

Defensively we've made it to the conference title game with a legit weakness at corner, because of the strength of our front. And I think that front should be able to stop the run and harrass Darnold. Defenses tend to take over in the playoffs. Not every game but it happens a lot. It's why on that podcast as they noted the top defense has beaten the top offense 8 out of 9 times in playoff matchups. In fact there are top offenses from the regular season that have laid an egg vs just average defenses that step up in the playoffs. Happens quite a bit. So while that sounds ominous for our top ranked offense, truth is the Rams have a very dangerous defense of their own if their corners can hold up.

All that aside I think this is going to be another trenches game where it comes down to taking advantage of redzone trips. So for both teams having a strong ground game would be very powerful. If you give Stafford a good ground game, for example, you're up shit creek even if you have an elite defense. And Darnold, who is playing through an injury, is no doubt praying their run game gets going. In the end though I would say that even though Stafford has been streaky as fuck since Dotson's been out, I expect he's going to be in good form in this game. The ball won't be frozen and slippery this week. He knows MacDonald's scheme and tendencies so it's about surviving the early game wrinkles that get added. So it's about taking good care of the ball early, being conservative and playing field position early on until 9 gets in the flow of the game. And from there I expect the Rams pass game to be sharp and if so I like our chances.

Way more confident with this game than I was going into Chicago. Hope that translates well. :laugh3:
Here's a tell, of the 5 games Rams lost, 2 involved giving up 2 turn overs. Two others involved giving up 3 turn overs. The 5th game played clean was stolen via the 2 point scam. Obvious key to victory, don't turn the ball over more than 1 time, if at all. Result to date (14-1).

Based on the injury report it looks like Cross will start at LT. How long will he hold up? I think V8 should just bullrush him right into darnolds lap on 1st play. Good chance cross or darnold leaves the game after that.

Need to take the crowd out of the game and have them leaving early.
And take the refs out of the game too. Play clean if the refs are calling the game tight. Play aggressive if the refs are letting them play.

Maybe so, my source was the stat sheet on NFL.com following the game which included the name of the sacker. You can choose which hill to live or die on if your prefer.
Either way it is quite disapointing that the Rams haven't sacked Darnold. No wonder we lost the last game. He is to confident in his line.
I know out Dline has more sacks then last year but it really doesn't feel like it.
