For those fans that think you should pick the BPA with your #1 pick (Not arguing - Just Wondering!) just how far would you go with that philosophy? While I do agree with that to an extent I do think you have to consider your team's roster strength's & weaknesses when you make that 1st Round pick. Fortunately (Or, Unfortunately!), for the Rams the only positions I don't think they would consider with the BPA philosophy with the #10 pick would be the DT's, DE's, Kicker, Punter & RB (Possibly, the DB positions depending on how they feel about their current CB's & Safeties) positions.

A couple of players I really like are DT Danny Shelton and DE/LB Vic Beasley but I don' t think they will be on the Rams list since they are pretty deep at the DT position and I am not sure Beasley is a 4-3 LB (But, I could be wrong!).

The combination of the two...... Needs/BPA is my choice as always. This 2015 draft as most all know will be the BPA OL'er on days one & two of the draft.

There are pro & cons both ways. But you can have many drafts with many BPA's & still finish last in your division when it really counts when its all over....hey but on the flip side all those BPA's guys will be able to brag for years about all those wins for all those awards given out for having the best drafts. o_O

The pure BPA members will have a tough sell to ROD members when #10 selection comes up & the BPA is Strong Safety London Collins or 34 DE Dante Fowler or 34 OSLB Shane Ray or 34 NT Danny Shelton. What you find then.... its all about the draft not improving the Rams team.

Well, since different teams run different systems the BPA is not going to be the same for each team. 3-4 DEs have to be amazing to be BPA for a 4-3 team, for instance. And if the BPA for your system is only slightly better than players you already have - especially if you have quality young players - then I can see passing them up. But if the BPA for your system is a guy you expect to be a superstar at a position you don't have one, yes you go for that, rather than just go for a quality starter, which are a LOT easier to find later on in the draft or in free agency.

I think it always has to be a bit of a combination of BPA and position fits. If the BPA doesn't really upgrade your team, is that guy truly the BPA? IOW if the BPA is a 6'1" DT and he isn't better than Donald, don't you already have the best player available for your team? Same goes for a LT. Doesn't that BPA have to be better than Robinson? I'm one that thinks you have always be looking to upgrade your roster. I know - duh. But just thinking BPA I think is more of a draftnik philosophy and one many of us get tired of watching the talking heads project to our team and demonstrating they haven't been paying attention to the Rams.

Well Michael Brockers is entering the final year of his contract. And Shelton just might complement Donald better so.............

I'd say move down a few spots and grab a CB or lesser OL. I have a feeling Peat and/or Collins will be available and one of them could be one of the best available depending on their combine showings. I'd much rather see us get a few extra picks (or even Foles) to move down and still fill a need in the first round rather than grab another D-lineman.
