Kyren's great but not a home-run hitter like this guy is. Doesn't anybody remember what Saquon Barkley did to us in 2024 Regular Season AND Playoffs??? Multiple 60+ yard runs, 200 yard games. That only happens with the physical freak type running back like this guy is. And no, to the running back is devalued crowd, if you replaced Barkley with Kyren at Philly running back you would not have the same multiple 60 yard runs and the put away touchdown in the divisional round playoff game. Bottom line is, Love can give us a Faulk element that we only had for one year with Gurley.

Yeah I read it. My reply was to Coliseum stating we didn’t necessarily have to trade KW in any trade up for Love scenario. I’d prefer getting some trade value with KW. Corum is cheaper and I like him as a #2 behind the bell cow.

Everything I’ve read and seen from Love suggests he’s ready in all phases for pro back responsibilities including pass pro.

In other words, he’d be the immediate #1. Our OL and TE’s are pretty good. IMO they have elevated our current RB’s quite a bit.

Having an elite back to run through those holes and catch those screens? I can imagine Stafford thinking to himself “Someone else making big plays while I stand and watch…amazing.”
I don't believe even the best pass pro backs in college are usually ready to pass pro in the NFL. If you're gonna rely on him for pass pro his 1st year you're gonna get our QB with a geriatric back knocked out for multiple games next year... if you're lucky.

I also don't believe it should keep us from taking Love if the stars align. Just should move Corum then. KW would be our 3rd down back. It's a shotgun marriage and not sure how it would work but that's the way, at least in year one, I believe you make the marriage work.

Draft Love?

YIKES!

~Kyren Williams
Would it dramatically change Kyren’s role this year when keeping Stafford upright is the key to us winning? What is Corum worth in a trade? I ask not because I want to get rid of him but because 3 into 2 would not be fair on him.

No way love makes it to 13 but if by some ridiculous miracle, and bad teams decide not to take and ride him to a winning record, and we then pass, we will be back to the eternal “Creed Humphries conversation”! Yikes!

Love could be a generational talent and there are perhaps only 3 others in this entire draft class. Styles, him and the OT from Miami (who might not quite realise his massive talent). Who doesn’t want Gurley minus the knee trauma?!

And what did Barkley do for the Eagles last year?

Oh, good point. A year after being the best player in Football and being the main reason for winning the Super Bowl a running back in his EIGHTH year had a down year. Great argument against drafting Love.

Who's making an argument against Love?
I just laugh at the ignorance of folks with Barkley, the Eagles won a SB with him after getting cheated out of a SB without him. He had a great season, but he's also the cautionary tale of drafting a RB with a high pick.
Incidentally, the Rams did win a SB without a star running game
As for Love, I'd kill to see him wearing Horns, but I dont want any comparison to an rb who has been boom and bust

You think Barkley is Boom or Bust??!! You think Barkley was a bad Draft pick??!!! That is a questionable take IMO. He got drafted by a crap team. If he was on the Eagles his whole career they would have at least 1 more Super Bowl championship, maybe 2. Which is the argument for Love coming to the Rams cause they are ALREADY a good team. And the reason I thought you were making an argument against Love is because you responded to why I said we need Love over Kyren.

He is/was boom or bust
One season he's great, one season he's a JAG

Give ME a boom or bust running back who is DIRECTLY RESPONSIBLE for a Super Bowl Championship and has some other JAG years. I'll use a 1st Rounder on THAT. And anyways, you are severely under playing Barkley's TRUE impact. Like I said, If he was an Eagle instead of a Giant from 2018 they might have that 2022 Championship that they came within a hair of winning, or maybe some other.

But 1294 yards from scrimmage in 12 starts. I like Kyren but the offensive will be so much better with another back that can take it to the house.
Will it? We were already the #1 offense in the NFL. I think y'all are overestimating the gains and underestimating the opportunity costs.

That was because our run defense stunk in 2024. Barkley had 18 carries for 46 yards against us this year after we fixed our run D. There's no denying that Barkley is an elite HB or that elite players (including HBs) make a huge impact. The problem is that Love is not the prospect Barkley was and is unlikely to develop into the caliber of runner that Saquon is.

That may be true, but Love is a better receiver than Barkley is and that could equalize it. As We Know, a guy like Marshall Faulk was never really the best runner from scrimmage, just the best all-around running back when receiving was taken into account. Just like Roger Craig.

Love is not a need, just a sexy pick and a guy I think will great. Also, rb is my favorite position in football and I would like us to have the next great back.

I'm cool with Styles who probably upgrades us the most, or another position of need.

What I'm thinking is scratch "Stafford" from your comment and substitute "Bennett"...or whomever else the Rams next QB will be.

Stop using facts to make your argument/point ;)

Love is a better receiver than Barkley, but he's not Marshall Faulk. Faulk is arguably the greatest receiving HB of all time. And he was a tremendous runner too. Love is more akin to DeMarco Murray than Marshall Faulk.

Was only using Faulk as a shorthand example, of how you could be worse as a running back at gaining yards from scrimmage on handoffs but be a better all around running back taking receiving into account. Didnt call Love Faulk but the sky is the limit for this kid and will not put limitations on him.
