Nate Atkins goes into a bunch of hypotheticals about IF Alaric is suspended this year.
Maybe I'm being an optimistic homer, but I don't think it is guaranteed that AJ will face a suspension any time soon. Yes, the NFL reserves the right to give out suspensions BEFORE a case goes to trial. But common sense would suggest that only happens when the NFL thinks it's a "slam dunk" case and the evidence is overwhelming.
As others have stated, I don't think this is a "slam dunk" case.
As comparison, the NFL opted to wait on the felony charges against Stefon Diggs. Eventually Diggs was found not guilty and THEN the NFL declined to impose a suspension.
The NFL is very image conscious of course. So they may feel that they have to give AJ a suspension prior to trial.
Hard to predict what will happen. The Rams and the NFL will investigate a ton and get more of a sense of both sides of the case.
