Decide you can swim across a section of a lake. Really bad idea. I'm not a bad swimmer but about 100 yards off shore is not somewhere you want to discover that A) it is WAY farther than you thought B) there are COLD water channels running through said lake C) canoes only get you to shore so fast when you are holding onto one of the oars for dear life as they try to paddle with the other one.

Yep. Near death experience that I don't see myself ever forgetting. I'll still do the tequila shots at the lake - just not IN it.
