I'm a So Cal valley bro who now lives in Bothell. I was at that game where Zuerlein missed. I thought for sure I'd get a ration of shit walking to my car with my son...

However, everyone who talked to us seemed overly cool about it and almost sympathetic.

I felt like I was in Canada.
I’m glad you had a good experience.

I live in Nashville now. I have been to several Titans games over the years as a neutral/non-antagonsitic fan and have some awful experiences. So much so that I decided to stay home when the Rams came here last season.

After digesting the news of the trade, I think it's important for us to remember one thing. This is a very, very special era of Ram's Football we're living in. Most of us can remember the decades of incompetence, where the draft was our "Superbowl" (isn't that sad when you say it out loud?). The McVay/Snead era is simply amazing, and I am SO thankful to be able to witness it.

@David Ray Did you ever see the All 22 on that play - it clearly shows Ramsey staying with the receiver step for step and then Ramsey looking back and seeing Donald grab Burrow and Ramsey jumping in the air and falling down.
"Clearly"? I beg to differ. You and I've gone over this before. AD saved the game. Ramsey, as he had at the beginning of that drive, was on the precipice of blowing the game. As for the falling down, that was something he had begun to do on the regular and continued to do after leaving LA.

I think most don't realize how good Garrett is because he played for the Browns. Through a players first nine years, only Reggie White has more sacks.

He truly is in that AD space. Not quite AD, but he's in that ball park.

And all that production came playing for a team who never had the lead...
It will be kind of like Stafford. Many NFL fans didn't realize how good Stafford was until he got here. Now he isnt a generational player like Garrett, still a HOFer, but not one of the top 4 or 5 QBs of all time. Garrett could end up being a top 3 DL of all time. They were saying on ESPN that it will be great for the rest of the country to get watch Garrett in 7 prime time games this tear and likley several nationally televised games on Sunday's. They will now see how great he is.

Seattle hawks forum running the emotional spectrum... somewhere between it won't matter, I hate them, we're better anyway... and desperate.

Hard to believe we couldn’t have outbid them. That’s likely due to them packaging Verse in the deal (which makes it a little less painful for us)

I assume they are the undisputed favorites now. That will make it all the sweeter when we knock them out of the playoffs.

Rams are legit going all in this year. I hope this becomes a huge flop

I have been told several times that I'm crazy and I'm just a Rams hater. My point has been proven about the Rams, yet again. There is NO WAY they are not cheating the system.

I'm not gonna' sit here and claim that this doesn't make the Rams a lot better. This is ridiculous. How in the world can they afford this crap? And somehow, they'll be able to afford a massive contract for POOka.

Yeah, Verse is legit. Trading away younger talent for older talent seems a bit desperate --- but it will pay off at least this year.

Yeah, Verse is pretty damn good. It certainly helps, but geezus man. Like THAT team needs another beast?

They mortgaged their future in a 25 year-old Jared Verse for a 30 year-old Myles Garrett. They’re likely to get 4 to 5 years tops out of Garrett.

They are clearly shooting for a two year window, with Stafford and McVay, before having to rebuild the team from scratch

If that’s not desperation, I don’t know what is

Did Seattle get Garrett?
No.

Did Seattle really even have a chance?
No, not without making stupid moves.

Does Seattle still have their 1st round picks in 2027 and 2028, and all 12 picks in 2027?
Sweet cayenne pepper molasses, YES!

I'd mortgage the future too if I had two decent years of a franchise left.

It's honestly fine. We just won the SB, and it's in the books for good. This is them lamenting that they missed a golden opportunity so they're going all in for one this year (and they still have to run the gauntlet and do it). Take a look at Spotrac...their roster construction for 2027 doesn't look so good. We're much better set up for longer term success even if they're the favorite this year.

I prefer what Schneider is doing, building for long-term competitiveness, but if I had the Rams situation, I’d be making the desperation move too. Pay the piper in three to four years, and shoot your shot now.

Two different philosophies, and it will be interesting to see which one comes out on top in the long run

I have no worries about Mike knowing how to scheme Myles. None at all.

The consensus is the trade might be good for both teams. Rams get a Hall of Fame pass rusher to solidify a great offseason where they also got pro bowl caliber corners. On a team that was already Superbowl favorites. The Browns get to continue their 20 year rebuild with more draft picks they can waste.

Makes sense.
What makes sense is The TRADE in General for The Rams.Look at the contracts the next 3 seasons.Verse is going to COST a lot his next contract.
Look at what the Ravens were going to give up to get Crosby who is not as good.
Then think of what The Rams paid for Jalen Ramsey & add Trent McDuffie to the mix.I’d say it’s well worth it.
The Rams are back at win NOW mode. How blessed are WE ?

Garrett has been compared to Reggie White (#2 all time in sacks) and Bruce Smith (#1 all time)

Here's what they did from age 30-37

Reggie White 127 GP / 97.5 sacks (15; 14; 14; 13; 8; 12; 8.5; 11; 16)
Bruce Smith 125 GP / 89 sacks (14; 10; 10.5; 13.5; 14; 10; 7; 10)

Garrett's last 5 years: 83 games / 83 sacks

Now times have changed. Money has exploded and guys might retire sooner than they used to. But anybody can see, Garrett is in his prime and expecting another extremely productive 4 to 5 years isn't a fantasy.

Appears Poona is changing his number to 97 so Myles can have 95.

Now what the heck am I going to do with my new Poona Ford Jersey?

Mortgaging the future. It was said a lot in 2021. We were supposed to be in a long rebuild after the championship. Pay the piper. Philly Dream Team flopped a decade earlier so that means the Rams Dream Team will flop.

Well, they didn't flop. They won the Superbowl. After an injury riddled 2022 season the rebuild didn't last long. Back to the playoffs the next year and every year since. Now favorites to win it again. Rams defied all expectations. Just because one team flops doesn't mean they will. They proved that. And rebuilds are the Rams way. Its reload.

I WANT you to respond.

After all, we are not Communists....

There is simply no evidence at this point that Verse is an up and coming Superstar. That is, if "superstar" means Garrett, Crosby, Watt.

He might make Star. That would be Trey Hendrickson, Aidan Tomlinson, Nick Bosa level.

He COULD make superstar still, but lets not say it like its a given. Not by any means.
Respectfully disagreeing with you in regards to Verse”s trajectory. He’s not currently at the level of Garrett. I’ll give you that. He’s 5 years younger and has ample evidence of a career trajectory that could mirror Garrett’s success. And as we don’t live in a communist state as you eloquently stated it is perfectly fine for someone to have a different opinion and express it. Let’s just agree to give this about 5 years and then take another look at

No way Cleveland was going to take Byron Young in the trade, he's on the last year of his deal and is looking for an extension. Browns are taking a significant hit to move Garrett as it is and with Verse on year 2 of a 4/5 rookie deal, its a non starter if hes not part of the deal
