My buddy Claude just sent this to me..

Garrett is a massive improvement not only in pass rush over Verse but also in the run.

Hes the only defensive lineman in 2025 to post both a 90.0+ pass-rush grade AND an 80.0+ run-defense grade  — meaning he’s genuinely dominant on both sides of the ball, which is rare for an elite pass rusher.

His 13 tackles for loss or no gain ranked in the top eight among all defenders. 

For context, Jared Verse’s run-defense grade in 2025 was 62.0, ranking 63rd at the position — so that’s actually a notable weakness in Verse’s game compared to Garrett, who is a complete player. It’s one of the things that separates Garrett from other elite edge rushers — he doesn’t take plays off against the run.

Verse is what, 25? He ain’t Garrett but he’s a very good young first rd player you can build around.

It’s funny folks are attempting to talk me into Garrett. There’s no need. I love Garrett to Rams.

Im saying having to throw in a 1st, 2nd, 3rd in addition to Verse is pretty rich.

Now, if we had kept Verse and included Young in the deal? Sure…the Browns are going to need those picks to equalize value.

I believe it is standard to devalue future picks one round per future year.
That makes this trade Garrett for:
• Verse
• '27 1st [likely a low 1st]
• '27 3rd (= '28 2nd, likely a low 2rd)
• '27 5th (= '29 3rd) etc.

Sounds good to me.
McSnead F'in those picks again.
Simpson made it all go, opened up the '26 1st.
Ferguson made Simpson go, opened up the '25 #13.

So let me get this straight. In this last off season we've added our potential future starting QB, two starting CB's to fix our biggest weakness, and, the best pass rusher in the NFL. Not bad. Now if only we can get rid of the male cheerleaders it will be the perfect off season.

There are reports that the Eagles were after him but the Browns like Verse and the 1st more than the players the Eagles were offering and the picks.
