I'm not so sure about this. Garrett is a HOFer, but he's also 30 years old. My concern is how much he has left in the tank. Hate trading an ascending player like Verse. But I get it. Verse isn't Garrett. Hopefully, Myles still has four or five great years left.
Haha. He just won DPOY and twice in three years.

Initially loved it because I thought it was a straight up swap. Now Im kinda meh with our 1st attached. Why would the Rams have to give up a 1st? Both are great players. Garrett is the better pass rusher but Verse is super young.

Don’t like the pick attached but love the player swap.
Garrett's a better pass rusher on pass downs. And he sets a far better edge with contain. I think the upgrade is significant.

That said if Verse can fix his contain just by being more aware and less inside moves that get him buried inside, and maybe develop a few moves, then yeah there's room for the Browns to come out of this ahead. And there's risk for the Rams.

But lining up their window with Stafford with a significant blindside upgrade is a big deal. That plus the improvement in the secondary means this defense is by far the most improved on paper in the league this offseason. And they were a good, solid unit prior. So if health favors us this might end up being the best defense we've seen in a very long time. Adding that to Stafford feels like we are now the favorite to hoist that Lombardi.

People were talking about three or four first round picks for Garrett. To get him for only Verse, one first round pick, a second round pick in 2028 and a third round pick in 2029 is actually really good from the rams side. The rams will get those picks back in the form of comp picks most likely.
Maybe, but I don’t agree with what those people were saying. I see similar trade value player to player.

Age and player cost advantage Verse, player impact(pass rush) advantage Garrett.

I don’t care about the Rams’ money, it’s weird when fans do. I also don’t sweat the picks, fans overrate their value here.

I love Garrett coming in, but let’s be honest, the Browns made out very well with this trade.

I just really feel bad for Verse. To go from a great organization to the Stains? So sad for him. I really like seeing our stars stay with us. I get it but DAMN! This really sucks for the kid.

Hope it works out for us. We may be looking at the #1 defense AND offense this season.

Browns are quietly having one of the better offseasons building toward the future. They had a very good draft, lost Garrett but got Verse, who hasn’t peaked yet, but also getting a second first round pick in what can be “the best QB draft” in recent memory? This trade wasn’t about this year. This was about building a future. Browns may be onto something. I think this trade is a win-win. I’m just very disappointed in losing Verse. He was a favorite of mine

If Rams win Super Bowl this season they may very well have two of the more even blockbuster trades in history. Stafford and Myles Garrett for two Super Bowl wins and give two bottom feeding organizations pieces to be competitive teams again.

verse is better than goff but garrett is the best player in the league
It's hard to compare players of different positions but I think Verse and Goff are both somewhat equivalent. High end talents whose games aren't quite in that top echelon.

A straight up trade Verse for Garrett would have gotten CLEs franchise revoked.

Why? Garrett doesn’t want to be there. He wants out. He’s 30.

Verse is what, 25? He ain’t Garrett but he’s a very good young first rd player you can build around.

It’s funny folks are attempting to talk me into Garrett. There’s no need. I love Garrett to Rams.

Im saying having to throw in a 1st, 2nd, 3rd in addition to Verse is pretty rich.

Now, if we had kept Verse and included Young in the deal? Sure…the Browns are going to need those picks to equalize value.
