Just pondering how this will effect the Edge Rushers ?
I think the single biggest effect we will see is improvement in the contain. Verse does a lot of good things but I hated his contain. He got caught inside way too much. Garrett's on a whole different level there, and when you consider that Young is among the best in his contain as well, it's gonna be tough to beat our front to the edge. This will be appreciated by the new corners as well.

Garrett's contract gets insane about two years from now, so of course he may get a new one following this trade and maybe that allows us to keep Young if he plays well enough this season. But either way for 2026 we're in business boy. So damn pumped for this season.

So the trade is:

Garrett to the Rams....

Verse, 2027 first round pick, 2028 second round pick, 2028 third round pick to the Browns.

Too much? Verse and the 32nd pick in 2027, #64 in 2028 and #95 or 96 in 2029. :wow2:

I can’t believe we only gave up one first rounder and then a 2028 second round pick and a 2029 third round pick. Almost seems like we fleeced them.

Well, Verse is still young and can get better. This trade may drive him to be that much better. Poor guy definitely feels like shit with this trade. Browns aren't winning shit.

Maybe they see more in Josiah Stewart going forward.
Stewart probably helps them feel comfortable with letting BY walk.

Also, so much for McVay's first 1st round pick as a head coach lol.
It was a wildly successful first 1st round pick since it allowed us to flip it for the best defender in the league. Same rationale with Goff. In both cases, we can't upgrade without those players being at least somewhat successful.

Its because Verse was attached.

I’m saying even with Verse included I’m surprised that’s all the picks the Rams had to give up

I would like to see them go get Garrapolo. Convince him for one more year so they have a great insurance policy for Stafford until Simpson is ready.

The only obstacle to a SB is either a massive injury bug that hits the team, or an injury to Stafford or Garrett.

And they will be getting some high comp picks in 28' & 29' that will offset those other lost picks.

Now, its more important that they hit on this draft, and a few of these UDFA's turn out to be future solid role players.
