You have to compare the two to have any opinion on it. If you think its comical that Verse could potentially turn into a great player like Garrett, then thats cool. I think its even more comical to dismiss a player based on 1 yr out of their 3yr career and then compare it a player who has had 9 seasons to be who he is. All good though man, like I said before I hope im wrong.
 
Just pondering how this will effect the Edge Rushers ?

Byron Young played hurt most of last season and was a negative in the playoff. He is a UFA when the season concludes.

Keir Thomas missed the last 2 seasons due to injury??

Desjuan Johnson was all over the DL and his play was improving.

Josiah Stewart has starting talent as I type he brings fire.

Rams have had the opportunity to observe the very young new crop of rookie Edge Rushers:

Eddie Walls
Darryl Peterson
Westley Bailey

Did the coaches see something from these rookies that helped push for this trade?

Garrett is a 2 x dpoy and 5 x all pro. Had 23 sacks. A record. He’s not a great player. He’s the best edge in the NFL. Been watching nfl for 35 plus years. Verse can have a fantastic career but he’s not developing into that. His pass rush moves are one dimensional. He also was better as a rookie than second year.

Like saying a promising DT will be Aaron Donald because he’s younger.
