Okay-was going to add to the D-Line group, but he plays.I was wondering about #0. I was not a Fan of him The First Day.Noteboom handle him well.
I have to say up close I had doubts. He looks the part.He was getting encouragement.
-What I liked about him is he works day in & Day out.Just crushes .He is smooth & finding what works. During scrimmage he was lining up at different angles.I kept an eye out on him & he came from the outside & read the play.He circled inside the D’Line & filled the HOLE like a MLB stopping The Run play.
—Ever since say my little Football Days(5 plays),I always remember the Rule of Containment. NEVER LET a RUNNER OUTSIDE YOU.The meaning of reading that play & knowing he had the outside Contained was COOL to see.It shows me he knows where The Ball is & can read the plays.
I BELIEVE watching Fred Dyer & Jack Youngblood that EFFORT is THE KEY as a DE.Making sure you contain The Run.Constantly Pressuring The QB!!!
—Hoecht is ask to do a lot.He had a hard time with Kyren Williams All Day.It seems like he likes running on the Rightside(L-OLB).He caught a TD Stafford pass over his head.Beautiful Pass & then he comes back with a rushing TD.Like my GF said then runs back across the field & here comes Kyren Williams making another play running in between players. She said to me if I got a Rams Jersey I’d get #23.He is my favorite.
—#51 was a guy up close thinking who is he? Didn’t look all that impressive. Was thinking he doesn’t have a chance??
*** Coach Joe(Coniglio) said nice Zach.He has a nice group of coaches.Dude is working with them.(Daniel Hardy???? Not impressed).

Looked up his name up Zach Vanvakenburg - he was excellent in 1 on 1 drills.B.Young was as well beating Noteboom. We saw a play that Zach made in the scrimmage which turned heads. He stood a RB up.He is a high effort guy that might surprise & make The(53) Roster. Not making predictions, but he did well day2.
—Each Day is a new day,so you really never know.

Daniel Hardy just doesn’t impress me.He does well on special teams though.(just me ?)
He seems like he doesn’t have a good feel (seeing the ball) of when to separate or raw speed off the edge.He is a Tweener for sure IMO ?

TJ Carter looks lost all together? Kier Thomas actually #96. Carter I’m not sure ? IMO Zach Van is the better player of the 2 for sure.

I forget about Murchison. I thought he looked pretty good in his limited time last year. I would think he'll be part of the rotation that sees plenty of snaps.

Man - if you saw him Yesterday in 1 on 1’s you’d go wow.that guy can get to the ball.He looked good on the sled type machines. Eric Henderson has those guys always working. He gets them on there knees & push up squaring up & feeling the leverage.
This is his first season really working an off season with Henderson. He is quick & stays low.His first game as a Ram he has 2 sacks.
I got that up close with him & I think he stood out the most with his getting to the QB.AD99 might have something to do with that or Henderson (both). I was impressed at how (fast)he gets off the ball & straight (past) to the QB.
Steve Avila sort of looked silly ? Just in that drill.Day 1 he looked like a veteran All Pro.It’s so hard to say about a player in training camp. It gives you a view & a feel.

I will give Brycen Hopkins thumbs up again.

I like Vanvalkenberg and see him as good depth at this point. IMO he's way better than Kier Thomas.

Oh BTW Gaines is turning heads in Tampa. Morris cost the Rams an outstanding 1T NT which are damn hard to find. Meanwhile, Bobby Brown playing as a 2 gap 0T NT is looking ..... "ho hum" is putting it nicely. Suh and Vida Vea are prototypical 0T NT and Brown doesn't look to be in that class.
Read the same here. I've never been huge on Bobby Brown since he hasn't proven anything so he's a TBD where as Gaines was s proven solid option. What hurts is how cheap Tampa got him for. There is no way anyone can tell me we couldn't have re-signed him to such a deal.

Have to give Brycen Hopkins total Props!! He has been so GOOD!! In training camp over his 4 years he has improved so much. He looks just as good as Tyler Higbee. They line them up wide(both) & they will both be NIGHTMARES for DB’s.
He scores at will. I have watched him as a RAM & he in NFL games is NASTY.He makes a play & comes up with power & wants to beat the DB up.I mean I’ve said last season a couple times like settle down wtf? I like his fire but never understood him.He has seemed like a trouble child. He has grown & matured.
-NOW he gets it. He is STRONG. RUNS solid Routes. He stays under control & goes over the middle with a purpose. EVERY BALL is his.
I look back at the Superbowl year & Hoplins was lost & Blanton really stood out. NOW HOPKINS looks as good as Higbee. They run the same routes & look the same. IN FACT imo Brycen actually looks stronger attacking the ball in the air.He will be TOUGH IN THE REDZONE.

I don’t know ? Just saying I don’t think I could be IMPRESSED MORE!! Practice had a lol(slowing period) in the play calling. I don’t know what was going on. Maybe working the headsets??? It was disturbing if Sean Mcvay lets that happen during a game.I was going to start yelling at him. Like WTF!!
He & Stafford need to get into a rhythm.
Things got back going. There was a point the offense needed a play to get going.Brycen Hopkins Had a couple plays & the offense started really clicking. He had a TD & a flag was called.I think he ran off the DB like they were practicing & caused contact. The DB got wiped out & Brycen Hopkins caught the ball wide open in the middle of the Endzone.
My GF said no good why did he mess up(miss it). I said he caught it.What do you mean.Well that guy threw that yellow thing(lol). That’s just another example of how solid his game is right now.He doesn’t miss passes. His hands are GREAT!! Don’t know his catch to drop ?? In his career ?

Great to hear BHop is coming on strong. That can help this offense immensely.... Especially if they can use him in 12 personnel. Opens so many things up in both the run and pass game.

Davies Allen is the guy I was most excited to see.You know the rookie classes there are players everyone wants to see.
Over the years it is sort of crazy how after OTA’s something happens to them. Then there was Hunter Long that The Rams traded for.
—IMO that was one of the things The Rams were going to concentrate on is 12 personnel. There is going to be a lot of power plays The Rams will have.
I honestly haven’t watched anyone’s reports from The Rams since Monday. This way what I’m saying is RAW.I did read about Kupp being hurt.Damn not sure what it was.
I did say to someone (couple people) Kupp looked a 1/2 step slower for sure. His TD was sweet.
First thing I saw on Tuesday was Kupp,Higbee,Akers can’t recall who else jumping like bunnies warming up.

I’ll say Murch is going to be better than Gaines. In fact Bobby Browns upside is also definitely going to.

The season will tell, but IMO your right The Rams could have tried to resign him & Nick Scott as well.AD99 liked him & might have said that in his 2023 interviews?
Eric Henderson is one of The Best D’Line coaches so I’LL TRUST him more than YOU!!
—Totally understand though. It’s always hard to loss a player(RAM) who has earned(homegrown )his way in The NFL,especially when they help the TEAM win a Superbowl.

Hoecht has always been an interior DL player and gained weight because the Rams asked him to add weight to play 3T behind Donald. Then they move him to 5T at over 310 lbs? He was learning the position as he played last year. Now with a full year to learn the position and his experience last year, he's going to be potentially a very good edge. When he was a rookie, I compared his measurables and times to AD as an example of how athletic he is.

Michael is essentially a second year player but I think he could have an excellent year. He brings speed and power to the DE position which compliments Young on the opposite side who brings power with elite speed as a Leo. If Morris has a brain he will play Hampton as a SAM behind Young to allow Young to simply tee off on the snap. Floyd had a great year when he had Ebukam playing SAM behind him. Remember Phillips used a SAM to control the edge and flats and Pleasant was on Phillip's staff coaching DBs. With Mathis and Hardy they could play a WIL behind Hoecht with Jones in the middle controlling the A gaps. The Rams are going to play a lot of mobile QBs, and using a SAM and WIL will control the edges and flats.

The Rams have the personnel on defense to play aggressively. If they do this is a top 10 defense next year. The only impediment is Morris and his bend not break good enough mentality.

I don’t know all about that ?

I give you credit on staying with Hoecht.I think your missing a couple players who came up with him & his weight.
I don’t get Dudes Up on the Scale, but eye them up a little.IMO Hoecht was NEVER 310 as a RAM. Just like Alaric Jackson was NEVER 278 “LBS. in FACT I’d say those numbers WERE totally Reversed??? I can tell you that right now,but you have see for yourself.
Hoecht has probably lost 10 Lbs & playing at 275?? Alaric is probably close to 320? He is tall & thick. For some reason I might go out on a LIMB & say Jackson starts at Guard(LG ?).

Here we go Oldnotdead.I’ll say The 2 Players that came up with Hoecht have played at the same weight if not more than Micheal are COPELAND & Johan Williams.

-Copeland is THE PLAYER The Rams resigned for that CASH as a FA!! If truth is told he is making almost as much as Gaines or Scott did.Making me think now after the dust has settle that it shows MORE NOW than what RAMS(me)FANS had thought at the time ?
Johan Williams the last few years has been the guy of the 3 I liked. He usually lines up as RDT(AD99’s backup?) at DT.He IMO has been BEEFER.Hoecht .
He looks like he might have lost some LBS.
Hoecht has always been a effort player. He is(was) fast enough to play special teams.
Copeland has always been that DT/DE on the Leftside.
Hoecht is lining up as OLB Left side (Floyd) & Copeland is inside of him on the Leftside as DT/DE.

At 22 years Old(not dead yet) is just starting his career really with The Rams.He will make plays & plays with high energy.
Don’t go counting (choking) your chicken(s) to soon.

-Eric Henderson & others helped make that decision so F-EVERYTHING your High Horse is saying about Raheem Morris.Don’t hold your breath for 8 seconds Cowboy. It’s to hot for Horse in ARIZONA.

You’re riding Morris a little Hard. He’s not your BUCKING Bronco.Maybe AZZHOLEFACE is your type ? You’ve been a AFC FAN (season ticket holder)for years. -To each his own though. I just think blaming Raheem gets a little OLD(notdeadyet).

Don’t mean to be a RICHARD comes naturally sometimes.

In WHOLE my take from 2 Days & what I’ve seen over time is this team is looking good.As good as any Rams team.

Mike Lafluer is going to be an Outstanding OC.I was going to start yelling & going CRAZY!! There was a Period I was PISSED at Sean Mcvay. He slowed things up & I didn’t know why?

—I say that because of The Play Clock.I’ve watched enough games over the years if has driven me CRAZY! Goff’s first 2 seasons with The Rams he was IMO one of The Best at working the clock.Drawing teams offsides & getting the plays off without a delay of game or Timeout.

In FACT The WHOLE NFL COMpLained about Mcvay being in his (ear) headset(Goff’s) to long before the play (15 seconds).
I don’t know.I was to far up in the stands & why I hate being up there.I wanted to get up about 3 times but couldn’t.Would have made to big a fool of myself, which doesn’t stop me. Security was tighter this year as well? Not to say that slows to down totally.

—My whole thing is the rhythm of The Offense.Getting the play called & off on time. When The Rams have that down in the preseason,it usually Carrie’s over.

I will say Sean Mcvay & Mike Lafluer looked like they were working on Communication with Matthew Stafford. They were trying to figure out who’s voice is who’s in his headset.I think Mike Lafluer is going to be in the booth? Getting that IRONED OUT is good. They took that time to adjust & figure out IMO.
Then once that started you could see the flow (tempo) work its way back up to a real nice pace.

I know I’m hard to understand, but my passion is there.I get into it at times.
I’m a pure Knut job at times.I guess as a poster I’m going to try to chill as well.
-/During some seasons I barely post in season. This is the time I like to give my views.
I think I might go out to practice again today? Will be pushing for time & my GF will get the final word on that decision.
My training camp report is just that, but it’s authentic.
I WISH EVERY POSTER (Rod’s)The Best for 2023

Gonna miss Gaines.
He had good production, great motor and a nice work ethic. He'll do good for the next team!

Yea - in Tampa Bay. His relationship with the that BIG DT from Washington is a good friend of his.
I think you’ll find a liking to some of The Rams DT. Kobie Turner has an excellent motor & is more talented IMO.

Ryan Wendle is a hands on coach, who is an emotional leader for The O’Line.I like the energy he brings to that group.
IMO he is going to help this group a lot.Didn’t get that feeling with Carberry who I questioned ever since he was a Ram Coach.

Good to hear, our OL needs some one to light up a fire up their asses and be a role model also.
