In Bulger's early years he had Holt, Bruce and Faulk. Then he had Holt, Bruce and SJAX. He only eclipsed 100 QB rating once. His rookie year in 7 games. I'd rate Goff a little higher.

There is an intangible about early Mark Bulger that got me excited about him. He and Goff were deficient as leaders in a general sense (imho), but he seemed to have some "dog" in him as far as being clutch in bad situations. This is pre-Bulgerization years for him.

That 2003 team was pretty good. I guess for me going in my lifetime...the order is Kurt, Matthew Stafford, Marc Bulger, Jared Goff, Sam Bradford.

Bulger might have been more clutch in bad situations but I still like Goff more to not put us in a bad situation.

When Goff had a lead, the Rams won.

How can you forget Joe Willie Namath!!!!! Just joking but, I remember seeing him at Cal State Fullerton training camp and they drove him from the locker room to the practice field in a black Oldsmo-Buick to save his tender knees. Still had a very quick release and the game against Philly in week 2 was his last decent game as a pro. Called his own plays. Crappy ending to a solid HOF career. One of my favorite memories of ol' Joe was him hitting on Suzy Kolber after a few scotches during a live interview!!!

Glad you communicated about James Harris and all he had to endure. Knox had his back, but the owner Carroll Rosenbloom who was a pioneer in so many ways came up short in this area IMHO and again I won't go into detail because of the nature I just feel that because of the Rams depth at QB with Jaworski & Haden, Harris was always looking over his shoulder, but IMO, underrated as a Ram signal caller & field general.

I saw him play for the Chargers against the Dolphins in 1977 in the old Orange Bowl. He had a tough outing, but finished with a game winning TD run.

Agreed - I've got to call you out on that one, skimmer, aka @Loyal. Both Bruce and Holt had multiple 1000-yard seasons and were still at or near the top of their game when Bulger took over. No disrespect to Woods, but Kupp is the only receiver Goff had that can be mentioned in the same breath with Bruce and Holt, and even then, the Kupp of the present is better than the Kupp he had. And now Goff is lighting it up for Detroit - DETROIT - with guys like ... St. Brown and Reynolds. Not bad players, but neither of them can sniff Kupp's jockstrap.
 
What, no Tony Banks or Sam Bradford on that list?
 
I have a tough time picking one over another. Of course Stafford is freshest in my mind and our current QB so there's that. Warner the only other SB winner. Ferragamo and Goff helped get us to a SB so there's that. Like SeminoleRam, when I became a Ram fan Gabe was the QB, so he's always a favorite. And James Harris was another I loved. I guess what I'm trying to say is, "if they were a good Ram QB, they're on my list, including Everett and Bulger". Picking one seems like disparaging the joy brought by the others!

I would have Warner #1 but i think if Stafford had enough years on this team (which may never accumate now) he would probably make it to #1.

Warner was so damn good for a couple of years... but he also turned into a turnover machine over time.

But Bulger had prime Steven Jackson, which more or less evens things out. If Goff would have had prime SJ while Bulger had prime Gurley, would their records have been substantially different? Not IMO.

For me, if I am relying on one QB to do something special to win a game, between Bulger and Goff, I'm going with Bulger, imo.
