I felt about the same when we played at the Edward Jones Dome. A thin carpet on top of a very hard surface, ... even the sidelines were dangerous and brought on a lawsuit if I remember correctly.
Pretty sure Reggie Bush sued the ED for a season ending injury.

Edit:

I do not see the loss of Johny Mundt as a major hit.

Rams have had TE Kendall Blanton running around now since 2019 from Missouri. Their body types are certainly different though. Blanton being over 6-6- 265 pounds is going to give Stafford something different on the field from this point on. Blanton has attended 3 Rams OTC's/ Training Camps & Preseasons so it is not like he is a new arrival here to this facility. Stafford has done well in the past throwing to an over 6-6 tall receiver before

Snead drafted Brycen Hopkins last season in the 4th rd from Purdue 6-4/245 & then came back & drafted another TE Jacob Harris a 6-5 215 pound from UCF in the 4th rd. So all three are going to be giving a chance to make the MR53 this week.

The only worse field imho is FedEx Field where the WFT plays.

That field is almost as bad as that field was in Mexico City after that Shakira concert...
Met Life has field turf, same surface as half the league. Not sure why this keeps being repeated?

I'll say this much, if Mundt is going to be out (which he obviously is) and if Hopkins doesnt dress on Sunday, they seriously need to release him.
I wouldnt be surprised to see more of Skowroneck than Harris. Higbee hasnt exactly been tearing it up this season so far either, so I can see Skow seeing some PT as a hybrid TE/WR/I back type

I agree with everything here except the Higbee part. I think he was quiet yesterday because he's a little beat up from Seattle. He's a top 10-15 TE, when it comes to numbers and is a solid blocker.
Yeah.. if Hopkins isn't the primary replacement for Mundt, I'll officially be worried about him.

That sucks, because he's the best blocking TE on the roster.

In my opinion I don’t think that Skowroneck will play any type of TE, as he never played TE in college or high school. So I wouldn’t expect that all the sudden he plays TE in his first year in the NFL; especially since in practice the Rams never lined him up as TE, and add the fact that he broke his arm which means he had limited time to even getting use playing WR in the NFL. So he is in no way prepared to all of the sudden to play TE.

Whichever one blocks the best will be Mundt’s replacement. Realistically we are looking at 10 snaps tops. So it’s not a big deal who they use there. Heck, let Anchrum play Tight End. He looks capable of throwing some blocks in space.

I'd prefer to see Blanton in there at TE2 for most of the sets. He appears to be more well rounded then the other options at this point, as well as the most experience within the system.

If we have another blowout like yesterday then yeah, mix in the other guys and develop them in garbage time. Training camp is over.

It’s not the turf. It’s what’s buried under it. Jimmy Hoffa curse!

Higbee has the highest reception percentage of all our receivers at 88%. He's had 22 receptions out of 25 targets. The fact that Stafford has so many quality receivers shouldn't be a reflection on Higbee's lack of targets in comparison to Kupp & Woods, as the guy catches almost everything thrown near him.

No disagreement here. somebody on ROD wrote that they think Blanton gets the call up.
Which in my opinion Blanton has shown more than Hopkins.
That being said I also hope I am completely wrong Hopkins and he plays well.
But we have been looking for some semblance of development from him and so
far??? I got nothing.

But he hasnt been lighting it up. TE during the McVay era have received 7 targets per game, this year just over 4. Not sure why you're not seeing this.

That's why I said a hybrid TE/WR/I back type

Its Jacob Harris time. I've been waiting for that freak to see the field. Let Higbee block a little bit more.

I expect to see more of Blanton maybe than anyone else. Assume he can really block.

I'm not seeing the importance of it because we also have guys like Kupp, Woods, Jackson & Van Jefferson sucking up targets. All of them may lead the team in receptions on any given gameday, ... it's a blessing, not a negative.
jmo.

McVay system is reliant on production from 2 TE, heck he ran 3 TE sets in Washington.
In any event, not sure why you're moving the conversation in a different direction, the subject is Mundt. If you feel Higbee has been lighting it up, that's fine.

I remember the old Kingdom in Seadderall....it was so bad Curt Warner, the old Penn State RB, tore both ACL's without contact on 1 play....brutal..
