Moving on from a any players that have contributed to our success in the past is very hard. I for one am a Running back guy, love a premiere work horse RB and watching him take the majority of the load. So to even suggest getting rid of TG is very hard for me to do, but it's a necessary evil that I think must take place. Obviously there is a ton of smoke out there and there has to be some fires creating them.

I don't dislike Cooks but I'm a firm believer if you can't stay on the field your not any use to your club. Regardless of what sport this is in regards to. The contract and injury history needs to go, even if we have to eat some of that money (like the Foles trade) we need him out of here.

If McSnead can get some draft picks to compensate us I really feel we can more than make up from their absence.

DRAFT:

One of my favorite times on ROD is Draft season, interacting and reading everybody's mocks, draftee news etc. and of of course our unique ROD draft.
Unlike most years, I haven't had the time to go through multiple positions. I've really only taken a look at RB's and WR's so far.
I feel like these potential gems are game changers that are flying under the radar this draft that will be major contributors in the NFL. Also, we have a decent shot at drafting them with our picks (more picks with a trade)
More than likely we are going to have to go to a 2 RB set up if we trade Gurley, which is technically happening already.

My first of my 2 RB's:

Zack Moss, RB Utah

5-10 222lbs. Guy is a breaking tackle machine, 87 last year. 1416 yards, 15 TD's in 2019.

Why he'll drop to us? Ran a 4.65 40 at the combine, not Gurley size, good but not great in the passing game, and the normal with all backs out of college, blocking.

View: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5tU24goTDhE

As you can see he has field speed, breaks many long runs. I really feel like we need 2 RB's to replace Gurley effectively.

Next RB :

Lynn Bowden Jr. RB Kentucky

6-1 200 lbs.
Guy is an ATHLETE, the more guys like this we can get on our team, the more flexible and inventive McVay can be with our offense. Now disclaimer, he played slot WR in college, first 2 QB's get hurt and the ask him to play QB in which he did. Tavon Austin your thinking?

55 broken tackles on 182 rushes. Yeah.
185 att 1468 yards, 13 TD, receptions 30, 348 yards 1 TD

He can break tackles in between the tackles and as a RB his route running is beast and a mismatch for LB's DE's or nickles covering him.

Ohhh btw he can be our game changing returner as well.

My last guy I really feel strongly towards him as a prospect and feel he's extremely underrated and could very well fall to us.

Michael Pittman Jr WR USC

6-4 223 lbs 4.52 40 yd. dash
2019: 101 rec. 1275 yards 11 TD's

Ask this guy and he'll tell you he's always open. King of the contested ball and with his big frame he would be a great red zone target. Goff, does seems to through a bit high at times and Michael Pittman should be able to go snag some of those high ones or off target balls with his big range.

He has an issue of not being able to create separation, but he's very physical, great ball skills, and damn good speed for his size, hell of a blocker.

To conclude I really feel like these 3, placed in the proper situation, has the potential to do some serious damage and they should be available where we pick in the 2nd not to mention any other picks we aquire.

Have you guys come across any other players you feel could be game changers or underrated contributors at the next level?

JK Dobbins is going to be to Zeke what Chubb was to Gurley.

The heir in college and a guy that goes later in the draft but ends up being better.

If we could snag a high 2nd round pick for Gurley (unlikely), I'd do it and take Dobbins, and we would be a better team next year.

Chase Claypool is gonna be a stud. His combine (4.46 40) probably pushed him up a bit in the draft but with the depth out there I think he’s still gonna be on the board on the 4th round area.
The Cat can just flat out go up and git it
Popgun arm QB at ND just couldn’t take advantage of his deep routes.
I think @Memento pimped him out as a dark horse a while back.

I like Moss and Bowden. Not sure if Bowden is a HB or a slot WR. But I think McVay could figure it out. There are a handful of WRs outside the first two rounds that I like in this draft (Bryan Edwards, Tyler Johnson, Van Jefferson, Quintez Cephus, Jeff Thomas, etc.).

Tyler Johnson and Chase Claypool are my favorite mid round wideouts (as in third round). Sewo Olonilua is still my prospect crush. Would love to get Dobbins or Aiyuk, but I don't think they fall to us.

I'm also guessing blitz pickup will be a huge consideration? Who is the best RB in the draft at blitz pick up?

I like Moss

Why? He reminds me of Zac Stacey....Moss is slow, doesn't catch the pass that well and breaking tackles at the collegiate level is much different then breaking tackles at the professional level and has ball security issues. Moss also had meniscus surgery in 2018. IMO, I just don't think his ability will translate well at the next level.

He reminds me of Kareem Hunt, and I strongly disagree that he's not a good receiving HB.

Fair enough I trust your judgment....Hunt's 40 time was 4.62 so 4.65 is in that ball park and he did have 28 receptions, 388 yards, 13.9 average, two touchdowns...Durability still a concern, but might be the right back to pair with Henderson.

He's certainly an option. I like Moss, Eno Benjamin, and Ke'Shawn Vaughn in the 3rd through 5th rounds. A.J. Dillon is another interesting one, but his limitations in the passing game concern me. Lamical Perine is a solid player, but he's more of a Malcolm Brown type imo.

No way I'd touch a RB at 52. Moss has a very good shot to be there in fact I'd be surprised if he wasn't because nobody will be in a rush to take a RB in this draft what with elite wideouts, good OTs, and whatnot spiking the quality of the early going. RB is deep so if any team takes Moss earlier than they should (I think he's a late 2nd type personally) there's a good chance other teams will be finding guys later like Perrine, Dillon, etc.

For me 52 is about impact player OR a development LT. If a good dev LT is there that I think has a good chance to start at this level (which is possible) then I would take him. Why? Because getting one of them in round 2 thanks to how good this draft is up top would help offset not having that first round pick.

Barring that I would simply take BPA there and try to recoup loss of that round 1 pick by finding an impact player.

Oh and lastly since I feel this way that means the Rams will take Moss. You're welcome.

I fully expect Snead to trade down from 52. That said, I just hope we get a starting center above all else. I really think doing so goes a long way in developing a strong OL that could get better over time.

We learned last year what an OL with limitations can do to the offense as a whole and the production of our individual skilled players. Let's not repeat that.

Dobbins runs just like Zeke, too...

As much as I like D Hendo... Dobbins looks special like Zeke.

Mac,
I think you're going to like Hendo even more after you see him as our primary back:)

I like Claypool but feel in those mid rounds where he might be we are going to go a different way due to need or value TBH. I hope we do a straight BPA draft but I'm not sure it's going to happen. Going to be real interesting. Love his tape and highlight reels.

That's a hard one to say TBH because it's a tough measurable withcollege scheme, football IQ, and experience. I was take what Marshall Faulk said in his football life episode " All backs coming out of college of that question mark of picking up the blitz." Just kinda assume all of them need some polish and the very least.

Man I really love moss at 52 and think he can be the answer we need to help make up what we will need in production from Gurley being gone. I have an overwhelming feeling that Snead will trade down from this spot to get more picks and value. That said I think there will be a mini run on RB's and the end of the 2nd/ Beginning of third.

I think after his slow 40, Moss will be around in the 3rd. I'd target him.

Love to hear that! I just think it's a bit to optimistic to think he might be around for us in the third unless me trade down at 52 and pick up a 4th or something. As negative as I've been with some of these moves I still have faith in Snead.

I think Dobbins might drop into trade range if, as expected, there is s run on WRs early. Not many teams need a RB and so you never know

Fits our scheme like a glove
