Rams play the Raiders MNF at Oakland Alameda Stadium, which is where the Athletics play a home game the day before. (At 1;00pm PST). It's the only stadium left in the NFL which shares with a ML baseball team. Will they have enough time to cover the infield or will they play on the dirt? Have they ever covered the infield for football before? In the past they just played on the dirt. Someone know?

Not a real good way to showcase the first MNF of the season.

Maybe they can get green shag carpet installed.:rolllaugh:

In actuality it's pretty easy with the right equipment to lay turf down in roughly 12hrs. But even with that the turf they'll be using won't be nearly as safe as the stuff that's laid down permanently.

It'll def be on the dirt and that'll be a huge advantage for them.

Expect Chucky to have plays at times where the WR or RB is on purpose going to set up a cut where he's on grass and the defender is on dirt.

I really hope we lay them out early, because I don't want to have to grind out a game on dirt where something bad happens.

To either team, honestly.

it's why I complain about the Coliseum and FedEx Field...

I expect McVay to do the same. Hopefully talent wins out.

When was the last time there was more than one stadium that shared football and baseball? Which stadium shared this honor?

Besides Oakland we had:

Candlestick Park (9ers/Giants)
Jack Murphy (Chargers/Padres)
Astrodome (Oilers/Astros)
Fulton County Stadium (Falcons/Braves)
Sun Life Stadium (Dolphins/Marlins)

...and the temporary homes of relocating teams:
Memorial Stadium (Ravens/Orioles)
Busch Stadium (you know)

That's just in "recent" times. There are a bunch more if you want to look way back.

That's barely any dirt. In the early 80s our league in Juneau Alaska played on an entire field of hard packed sand and dirt in 10 degrees weather and a lot of wind. Which brings me to a thought about the marijuana thread; smoke it if you got it. Especially in 10 degree weather.

Lol, the things we tend to make big deals over these days, didn’t seem to be an issue when the Rams beat them last preseason on this same field

Bottom line is both teams must deal with it

We also had the home of the Rams...Anaheim; full of dirt from the Angels...
