I'm not overlooking that open field missed tackle that sealed the game against the Lions.

I got a nosebleed typing it, which is why I edited it.

I wish you had Not done that. We need an intellectual on this Forum.

Up until now, we have relied upon @Loyal; and have been brutally disappointed.

Very good depth. Stop asking him to drop back! I still want to punch Morris in the sack for dropping him in coverage.

Just remember,

Michael Hoecht didn’t put himself in coverage. I don’t think Michael Hoecht would be going up to any defensive coordinator asking to line up against Amon-Ra St. Brown.

He’s always done what’s asked of him. If we miss out on a premier edge, or go interior, at least we have him.

the TE on 4th down Laporte ?

The good thing is his back & got paid a nice amount to be a solid backup.I call that nice depthorris said he helped win the Superbowl ,which if you look back at the improvement year in & out he has had as a Ram.

He's been given plenty of opportunity and has started quite a few games for us. He's a rotational piece and he's proven that in spades. Nothing wrong with that, he's a pro and an average player at best. We could definitely upgrade him which is why it took so long for the Rams to resign him. If we had gotten an edge like Van Ginkle signed, doubt he'd be on the roster.
You’re talking 2 plus mil vs. $17 mil for 2 years. That say enough ,but who thinks he is better than that ? Your talking about a udrfa DT playing OLB.

Morgan Fox is a player that comes to mind that was the type of player Wade Philips wanted.Hoecht isn’t the DT or inside pass rusher Fox was.Still both are rotational players. Carolina paid him, don’t know what he made with the Chargers ? Both high motor guys that continue to grind & play hard no matter how overmatched they are. That is what kept them around.

You’re always trying to upgrade . I guess the big question is about Alaric Jackson ? Whose also to say Joesph Noteboom doesn’t start for The Rams in 2024 ?

I thought it was a typo for “girlish”!:lying:
You see @Londoner!?! Right Here!

My good friend and fellow simpleton ... fanotodd ... has been kind enough to provide a perfect example of the type of low-level, simple-minded humor that many of us have grown accustomed to and find comfortable.

The motto is ... If you don't need to think too much, that's a good thing!

THIS is why we need you to occasionally post words we have to look-up.

Hoecht miscast as a starter. Really dig him as a backup.

If we do keep him at OLB, not sure we double down at OLB in draft. I see us grabbing a guy at OLB who can share snap counts with him, possibly start and then other resources put into DT and DE during the draft.

So many other things contributed to that loss. It’s a bit churlish to blame it all one one missed tackle.
Where did I say I blamed it all on him? But that whiff is example #1 for why he shouldn't be a starting edge defender. Example #2 is him running down field with Sam La Porta.

Wouldn’t you both agree the fans disdain for him is due to his struggles being asked to play out of position? Perhaps his set of skills don’t lend to a specific “position” and he’s more of a tweeter and McVay has what he has………

Hand on the ground 4-3 pass rush specialist DE? I think he gets caught up in the wash on run plays too much to be full time…..but I’m not a pro DC

He made some good plays as well. That 4th & goal was a killer against Detroit for sure.

I just wonder why he was 1 on 1 & there was no safety or even CB’s in coverage from my memory of the play. That was a big play & The Rams defense held.If The Rams stop that 4th down play the game basically would have been won by The Rams.

I guess some were saying he was covering St. Brown as well on that game winning catch. Not sure, but easy to blame a player who is asked to do so much & saying isn’t that good ?

IMO he isn’t full time starter in The NFL,but what he represents in The Rams Organization is Priceless if you’re going there ??? He is a nice piece imo to have on the 53 man roster .

Byron Young is a guy that benefits from him & is a good rotational guy during a game when needed.
