I dunno. Not having to pay $40 plus million a year to a LB, frees up a lot of cap room to bring in 4 or 5 quality FAs. Then add in the two firsts, which provides flexibility as they could turn some of those into other multiple picks like Detroit did. And Clarke will help over the next few yrs as well.Green Bay just improved by a tremendous amount, and Dallas got little in return.
Jerry just went full senile Al Davis. Never go full senile Al Davis.
According to Snead we've used like 5 draft picks to replace AD. I'd rather have one generational gamebreaking player like AD or Parsons then 4-5 medicore players.I dunno. You could argue losing Donald and lowering his cap hits, helped the Rams get better on defense and they didn't even get any picks to help that retool.
The follow up (IMO) is what do they do with those extra picks? That's what will help or hurt Dallas over the next two years.Surprised Dallas traded him within the Conference, and to a top-tier-team.
Also, really thought Dallas could have gotten more than two (almost certainly) late first round picks.
Clark is very good but has a lot of football under his belt, and will turn thirty this season.
Would have thought a young defensive starter, like LB Edgerrin Cooper, or Edge Lukas Van Ness might have been included.
If I was a Dallas Cowboys' fan, I would absolutely hate this trade.
Jerry Jones has made a ton of money, helped the NFL grow, kept his Cowboys in the headlines and even helped get the Rams back to Los Angeles ... BUT ... five playoff wins in three decades, and not even a single Divisional Round playoff victory in that time.
THAT is Absolutely NOT the guy you want as an owner if you are a fan that wants to win.
Saved me the typing. I feel the same way.The Cowboys weren't going anywhere with Parsons. They save a boatload of money and can rebuild with multiple first-round draft picks. Had they made Parsons available before the draft, they would have gotten more in return.
