Roger McCreary hurt his hip. Tutu Atwell is due back. I wonder if Karty's time is up.
Does Karty have any trade value?

Some pretty shaky kickers are out there. I feel like Karty will bounce back and play well. He kicked 85% as a rookie including 6 of 7 from 50+. He’s had some good stretches.

Not unless he was lights out next preseason.

Well, Mevis not only kicked two FG's 40 & 52 yards, but also handled most of the kickoff duties and did well in that area IMO. Be interesting to see what they do going forward. Maybe McVay likes the competition to keep everyone sharp or maybe like you communicated, he feels it was not all on Karty. Either way, maybe the Rams got lucky with Mevis as I like the cut of the kid's jib or jibs.
Yeah. I said during the game day thread that Karty may be gone after that 52 yarder. Whatever makes the team better.

I think Karty has the potential to be a great kicker, but we can't wait for him to get his mechanics and mental side of the game fixed. If we can find a way to stash him this year, great. If not, I understand why they'd cut him loose, especially if Mevis keeps it up.

Yeppers.

Did you see the side view of that 52 yard kick???.... That probably would have been good from 60 yards.

Thicker-K looks like he puts very little effort into his kicks.

I agree. If they’re fine with holding on to an extra kicker, I’m in. I think if they thought he’d last on the PS, he’d already be on it. Hopefully they make the right move here.

I think that the believe they screwed him up with those dirty kicks. So they would like to hold onto him if possible onto the offseason. However, if they get nicked up with more injuries they might not be able to keep him on the active roster.

Karty had his bright moments with us and is forever in my heart for that clutch GW FG vs the whiners last year. But it's what have you done for us lately. And like many kickers that seems to pop up more than other positions because you have it or you don't and the position is quick to analyze after a handful of games. We could see he was not getting it done after those bad games, though it took the staff longer for chances to fix. McVay said he wasn't giving up on him, but has no other choice than to ride that thicc Mevis train now.

Once I picked him up on my fantasy team, I had to change my team name.
Mevis and Butthead.webp

I just love how Snead is always willing to make the move needed to improve the Rams, when it is needed.
