1- 13. Makai Lemon, WR, USC 5101, 195

Mansoor Delane is probably the best pick, if available. Otherwise, Lemon is probably the safest selection. IMO. Instead of attempting to fill a need at a position with a lesser rated player or gamble on the medical history of a higher rated player, it might be best to go the safe route here. And with a dawg.

2-29. Derrick Moore, EDGE, Michigan 6’ 3 ½”, 254

View: https://youtu.be/hI29xqnpHlA?si=lPiG1yI398LGE2mc

Josaiah Stewart’s former teammate had 11 sacks this past season and is coming off a strong Senior Bowl showing with his 34 ¼ “ arms.

2-61. Julian Neal, CB, Arkansas 6014, 202

View: https://youtu.be/e3JlmDeX_Ug

Getting bigger and more physical in the secondary. Neal also has 33 ⅛” arms and was timed at 20.22 mph during Senior Bowl practices.

3-93. Devon Marshall, CB, NC State 5103, 197

View: https://youtu.be/xR8gJvkGhzA?si=amRioUrpbs97gU-e

Lead the country in forced incompletions (16). Second fastest time DB at East West Shrine Bowl practices after Hula Bowl call up (20.85 mph). Strong PFF grade in coverage and vs. the run.

TRADE: Rams trade both 6th round selections and a 5th rounder in 2027 to move up into the middle of the 5th round.

5. Aamil Wagner, OT, Notre Dame, 6051, 302 (proposed trade)

View: https://youtu.be/a-beb3Z9z20

Swing OT who has very good length that performed well at East West Shrine practices who might eventually develop into a starter with added weight.

5. Micah Morris, OG, Georgia

View: https://x.com/NFLDraftDome/status/2014774548239958252

Said to be the strongest member of Georgia’s football, Morris is a potential 2027 replacement for Steve Avila if he can’t be re-signed.

7. Albert Regis, NT, Texas A & M, 6012, 308

View: https://twitter.com/Dline_coach/status/2016530759620993458

Another sawed off interior DT to backup while learning from Poona Ford.

7. Louis Moore, S, Indiana, 5105, 191 (projected compensatory selection)

View: https://youtube.com/shorts/yyHpNvsgvLQ?si=yI8DndiSxF-INAI8

Safety depth

7 Jared Washington, CB, 6000, 186, South Carolina State (projected compensatory selection)

View: https://youtu.be/_17c7PD7k7o

Rams go back to Cobie Durant’s alma mater and nab the best HBCU CB in the draft and MEAC defensive player of the year who also had the fasted time speed at the East West Shrine practices (21.33 mph)

What a great draft this would be - nice work!
I'd love to have a coverage ILB though, a sideline-to-sideline guy who can defend the middle against the short throws. Supposedly this is a really deep draft for ILB's in general.

I believe that player is already on the roster in Shaun Dolac.

Huge fan of Julian Neal. Honestly one of the more underrated corners in this class. Although trading up from our second to a higher second might also have to be a possibility to take Neal, if I'm honest; he's that good, productive, and instinctive.

Lemon, Marshall, Regis, and Washington are solid selections as well (even though Regis is projected as a lot higher than the seventh round, just saying; I'm seeing him anywhere from the fourth to fifth rounds). Wagner has projections all across the board, so you might want to take Regis with that pick instead and Wagner later.

I'm a little hesitant on Moore and Marshall - but not because they're bad players. I just think they're way overdrafted. Marshall hasn't come close to being a third-round pick yet, and Moore, while he's rising, doesn't look like a top thirty pick; he's around our second-round pick. I could be well wrong on both of these players, though.

I dropped Regis to the 7th round due to not being able to remember any 6" 1 1/2" inch non pass rushing DTs going higher. In fact, he kind of reminded me of Poona Ford who went undrafted.

Have to disagree on Moore and Marshall being over drafted. My guess is that after the top 12-15 players on team boards, the next 50 or so are going to be pretty much evenly rated (Moore). And Marshall is a dawg who had a strong East West Shrine Game and fit for what I wanted.

Regis isn't a prototypical nose tackle, true, but again, that's where I'm seeing his draft stock from the people I'm looking at. I think he goes somewhere between the fifth and sixth rounds, but with his tape, I don't see a seventh-round pick.

Strong EWS, sure, but as of now, I'm seeing seventh round at best for Marshall. Yes, he's a great fit, and Young, Turner, and Durant prove that the Rams would go for someone that the rankings don't like, but that's what I'm seeing with Marshall.

You're right that after the top twelve, it's looking very grim at the top; I'm not even sure Lemon will be there (and if he or Tyson or Tate are there, we should immediately pounce, even if we sign a wideout in free agency). Moore is just someone I'm not seeing rated particularly high. Sneaking into that spot? Sure, but as of now - barring things changing - I have him as an early--to-mid-second-round pick, not a first, and I feel there's options that are about the same elsewhere in the draft.

I guess we are going to have to agree to disagree on these guys.

What is difficult to understand though is how a player who one sees as an early to mid second round pick cannot be seen as a selection at the bottom of the 1st round. I have serious doubts that there will be a team, media scout, or even draftnik that will have 29 - 32 1st round grades on this or any draft class.

I'll be happy if we land Jaylen Watson. Lemon is a good pick. I presume we traded down from the other first round pick. What was our compensation for it? (I must have missed it in the mock.)

Typo.

It was supposed to be 1.29. Moore was the second 1st rounder.

Got it. Do you think we need to take Moore there, or were you projecting that there wouldn't be any good trade offers to move into the early second?
No trade projection.

I'm guessing with his strong Senior Bowl and better measurements vs. some of the other top rated edge rushers he's going to go higher than some might expect right now. And unlike some others, I haven't found any medical or character concerns. He just needs a good combine to seal the deal.

Plus, I like the idea that he and Josiah Stewart teaming up again. They were a pretty good tag team coming off the edge at Michigan.
