I can't stand that a lot of the media is saying the same old story about Stafford. He can play if he just avoids the "boneheaded mistakes." He just needs to play a clean game... Etc. The rams passing game struggled for a few weeks mid season and the offense turned it over too much. This included some bad pick sixes. other than that stretch, the passing game is on fire. Stafford's play is right in line with other aggressive playmaking QBs that aren't getting the same treatment. Nobody is saying.. if mahomes just plays smart they can win this game.

Stafford this year - 41 tds 19 turnovers. Including playoffs - 47tds and 20 turnovers.

Mahomes - 39 tds 17 turnovers

Josh Allen - 42 tds 18 turnovers.

Brady - 43 tds and 15 turnovers

Burrow including playoffs - 40 tds and 19 turnovers.

Fuck 'em. All that matters is winning this game. There's a lot more riding on this one than just Stafford's legacy. That list goes on and on.

I’m feeling really good about Stafford right now…they’ll need 24 points or so and 9 is getting it done.

except what the stats dont show is how bad those turnovers are. not only were alot of staffords picks really bad but there was 4(i think?) pick 6s. Not to mention the games you can basically look at and say the rams lost cuz of his turnovers. plus the media talked all year about how mahomes turnovers was the chiefs biggest issue and showed up in their playoff loss. its a pretty fair media story imo.

If you look into the turnovers you also would see a number of intercepts that were thrown on 3rd and long and basically were like 40-50 yard punts. Those throws in my opinion are very smart. Why not take a chance throwing a bomb on a 3rd and 10-20 yards? Best case we have a huge play. Worst case they give it to them like a punt. The odds of converting on 3rd and long are so low. We saw this a lot this year from Stafford/McVay and I don’t think it was a mistake.

Going for the Rams is a burning fire to make this happen. McVay, Donald, Ramsey, Stafford , Big Whit, Hav, Hekker, Kupp all have enough experience under their belts to know this opportunity is not given it’s earned. And it could be a long time before it comes around again. They also know they need a good to great game in all 3 phases in order to win this game as the Bengals are battle tested and high on confidence. And finally they know the game lasts 60 minutes so they can’t rest on leads or count on the other team folding. I feel a sense of calm knowing they have the talent, experience and momentum to win this one. All that’s left to do is execute.

Love him or hate him...he does throw some of the most peculiar interceptions. Some of his off-target deep balls are infuriating, as are the multiple TD's thrown to the other team.

just looked up every single regular season int, only 2 were deep passes on 3rd down. the other 4 3rd down ints were all thrown well short of the 1st down line. I will also add he had 1 deep ball intercepted right before half so round that up to 3 "punts" for him. still leaves him in a not particularly great situation int wise

He had some incredibly bad turnovers this year… more than other QBs.

But then he righted the ship. I’m gonna hope that run of bad TOs is in the past.

Don't forget EW out there throwing that old body around. Good thing he's got two weeks to recover from the last one. :laugh4:

Win in 10 days and none of this shit matters.
I disagree. Win OR LOSE, none of this shit matters. His media persona will become how he plays in the SB.

Period.

I think he’s going to be on fire.

The only thing that matters is the last three games and the next one. Stats are for losers!

Stafford was still in an offense new to him. Plus McVay was not adjusting to the defenses as well during that lull.

Im just praying we win partially so I don't have to hear some of the same bullshit from the same people over and over....

especially the people who really only post to be negative about stafford, mcvay or whoever... its like you can literally just go read their posts from the past and its nearly all of what they do.

I know im dreaming about the shutting up part - even if we win it will likely be the same bullshit.

However the winning part isnt a dream.

I don't think so, it will keep them quiet for a while, but then you will here more about they Rent or buy things in L.A. and I'm fine with that, win the game and I'll take everything everybody's got. Plus Whit, Donald, Stafford many deserve it...One more win and we hold all the Cards @Ellard80

Stafford may make the occasional boneheaded throw -- like the pass that Tartt dropped -- but when it's crunch time, he's got ice water in his veins. Love that he came right back and rifled a bullet to OBJ immediately after that play, rather than shrivel up and play timidly.

That 3rd and 3 to Kupp was SO critical and clutch. If they don't convert there, then it's a VERY long FG attempt and Gay has not been his usual reliable self of late. A miss there gives the Niners great field position and it's a whole different ball game.

Stafford's come from behind victory was THE biggest 4th quarter deficit to be overcome in conference championship history. The guy is just clutch. While I'd love to see him eliminate that one dumb throw each game, I don't want it to come at the expense of him losing his edge.

The one outlier is Aaron Rogers who. Turned the ball over the least

The media has their own agenda. Why any of us tune into see what they have to say is beyond me. But I get we want to hear about our Rams.
But I do find it weird that a lot of talking heads still doubt the Rams and are picking the Bengals to win it all.
