Well, that's good because that's they way I took it too, however, this morning on Fox Sports Patriot Lover Kevin Wildes took exception to it, but I loved Nick Wright setting him straight on how bad Belichick has been without Brady and that they have not produced a pro bowl since Jamie Collins until QB Jones was gifted into it and IMO, I think the Pats are in trouble because Belichick can't draft anymore.

I actually think Mcvays smiley comment of saying "it's going to be an exciting next couple of days" is as usual a telling comment.

I could be over analyzing but he had a a buzzed wolf in sheep's clothing look when he made that comment. Not the first time it's basically like other times good or bad where a him was dropped. Like Goff or Wagner etc.

Like really how exciting can this draft be it's might be fun hopefully you walk away with some steals but to me a lot more behind that statement.
AD Kupp contracts coming part of our draft will be maybe Tyrann a trade Hicks; Quinn, Bradbury, Barkley, a combination of things but seemed very ominous.

Any thoughts?

They were not mocking the Patriots -- they were mocking THEMSELVES, for being deluded enough to believe Strange would be available at their pick. When was the last time McVay was disrespectful to ANYBODY, let alone a coach who spanked him in the SB?

I wouldn’t call it mocking because they were obviously interested in Strange, I’d call it surprised it happened sooner than they expected. They also liked the player obviously by “wasting” time watching his film.

I've been watching a lot of media about this, and some people are taking it way too serious. I don't think Snead or McVay or mocking belichick for the pick, I honestly think they wanted to pick him at 104. To me it was more like "oh crap We wanted him" And now he's gone. People really got to lighten up, they were just having fun.

Yea this was it, plus Snead and McVay were drunk as fuck. You can tell on Les' first answer when McVay kept joking with Artis that they better wrap this presser up before something bad happens that gets him fired. Just shows how a simple sentence or two can be taken completely out of context and made into something else.

Makes my skin crawl.

Just so weird how so many ppl could so blatantly misunderstand and misinterpret why McVay was laughing.

McVay was laughing at himself and at Snead--"why did we waste our time scouting this guy when there was no chance he'd be available to us?" McVay was NOT laughing "at Belichick" or "at the Pats organization."

McVay's words were pretty straightforward, plain as day.

Weird.

This is almost a case where I'd wish an owner would sue the show's asses and force them to apologize publicly. That would provide some check and balance for media asshats who think they can fictionally spin anything they want and sell it without repercussions.

Yep, this.

It'd be like if the Rams spent a ton of time on Aidan Hutchinson... Dude's going top 3 (went #2 to Detroit) and we picked 104, so short of a massive haul to move up... why spend that time?

I'm sure the hope was that because he was a small school guy that enough Power 5 guys were available in this super deep draft that they thought he'd slip to the 3rd round.

Was he the pick if he fell to #104? Seems so... maybe even a bit of a trade up to ensure we got him. Are they thrilled with Bruss? NO QUESTION!!! And they did try to trade up a bit to get him, just had no takers.

Bruss next to Big Hav is gonna be special... just wait. I think he's gonna be the first true rookie to start on our OL since Hav (Edwards played as a rookie, but didn't start the season as the starter, iirc)
