I can see them taking a player like Yetur Gross-Matos at 52. He's got potential, and his film is impressive in many regards, but also shows some of the traits people like Zierlein notes. As such he really is a bit of a project but one that can take occasional snaps during the season. He's the type of quasi developmental player that would benefit from playing behind Brockers for 2 years. He could solve their problem at DE for years if he works out. Is he a boom / bust kind of player? Absolutely, but playing behind Brockers should mitigate that issue. If he works out he will be a real find.
Jaylon Johnson is the type of CB the Rams need to add. He reminds me of a slightly taller David Long. He's got the speed and traits to play zone or man coverage. If they can manage a player trade via Havenstein and Hill to get close to the top of the second round Jaylon might drop to them. If he does I would hope Snead pulls the trigger. He's not a slot CB his best fit is the boundary.
As far as RBs are concerned, most teams don't draft them until the bottom of round 2 and into the 3rd round. So in the middle of the second most should still be on the board. Guys like Dobbins and Ackers should be there to help fill out the RB room.
Logan Wilson is a possibility to play SAM behind Ebukam. Logan is physically smaller than you might want at SAM in this scheme but he's got the speed and most of all the play recognition ability that you need at SAM. That play recognition is the same thing that allows Rapp to make plays despite being less athletic than others. I see that trait in Wilson and it allows him to play faster than his timed 4.6 speed. He's also fundamentally sound in his tackling. He would also come into the position with some coverage ability something lacking in Ebukam as a rookie.
I'm really expecting a good draft from Snead. He's loaded with right now 5 picks in the prime rounds for grabbing good players. He's got trade bait in Havenstein and Hill to add picks to his arsenal.
