I get the injury concerns about Tyson and using 13 on someone like that. But what about Simpson? That guy doesn’t look like he can survive a full NFL season. He couldn’t even make it through healthy in his one & only college season.

If he ever becomes a starter, you better have a good backup. Heck look at Purdy - he can’t seem to make it a whole year either.
Finally!
Simpson's injury history seems to have been glossed over quite a bit. Let's look closer:

This is a young man who suffered a lower back/bulging disc on October 25. He hasn't taken one NFL snap and already has a disc issue. AFAIK, disc issues in young people don't magically go away as you get older playing a collision sport.

Additionally, he suffered from elbow bursitis, in his first year as a starter. I can't imagine Alabama's throwing regimen is anywhere near what the Rams do. Bursitis in his first year as a starter? Certainly not something you hope for.

Fractured rib against Indiana. Staff plays through those. Not this guy.

On top of all that is the gastritis thing.

Is this guy just generally unhealthy or what? People knocking Tyson shouldn't be giving this guy a free pass.

why bucs?
Bakers' contract is over after this season and he hasn't been extended. I would think if the Bucs don't do something in the playoffs, they might be ready to move on from a 32 year old QB that hasn't been able to win in the playoffs. Not to mention the 45+million per year Baker's team is likely to be asking. Even if they were to resign him, I would not think it would be a long extension, thus having Simpson in the wings makes sense.

I think there will be an under the radar team that takes Simpson and I'd put my money on TB for the odds.
