That's an awful lot of mental gymnastics you went through there. Bottom line is this, Rams are 3rd most likely according to the betting markets. Make of that what you will. A fact is a fact.

God the draft cant get here fast enough

Agreed. So. Much.

The fact that we're arguing over players like Ty Simpson - forty-two pages worth - shows that we're getting stir-crazy.

...I'm not looking forward to the months - May to July - after the draft, though.

"Players like Ty Simpson?' Please explain?

Not going to be an elite quarterback. That's my reasoning.

The fact that we're arguing about him at #13 shows that the Draft cannot come here soon enough.

Can he be Bo Nix or Brock Purdy in your estimation? Cause these guys find themselves in high Playoffs fairly regularly......

We're for sure getting stir crazy, but Simpson is a worthy subject because he's a potential QB1, with a very polarizing draft profile.

What i can't believe are arguments over betting lines. Lol.

I'm interested in seeing discussions and how opinions change after the draft if we actually drafted him. That should be lively.

The same people that act like the guy's a complete STIFF, would be there to slobber over McVay after he drafted him. That's what's kinda funny.

So any thoughts on the apparent increased speculation it seems, that the Rams could be interested in JJ McCarthy? Maybe part of a pick swap and other considerations?

He seems fragile, and how good is he? I remember him looking good in the opener in Chicago after sitting out his rookie year. He then won his last 4 starts last year. So at least he showed some flashes.

He might be a lottery ticket? Maybe swap firsts and they throw in a mid round pick? Interesting.

Cant say i like it. He's 2 years in, and gonna have to sit for a year or two behind Stafford while we're forced into a decision on him on his 5th year option.

Much rather Simpson. He's outright BETTER than McCarthy and can comfortably sit for 2 years and even 3 if necessary.

Simpson has well above average Football intellect, for those who dont know it.

I think he could be Brock Purdy with better accuracy...but that's not a quarterback I want to take with #13 in a very weak draft for quarterbacks when 2027 is going to be much better.

Would rather take Tate, Lemon, McCoy, or Bain at #13. Not sure if they'll be there, but that's my feeling.

Oh, man. I'd have to put my full support behind him if that were the case; I trust McSnead with the pick, since they've been nailing them as of late. I may not like it, but our coach, GM, and scouts have my trust.

I'd just be more than a little worried going from Stafford to Simpson, were that the case.

Ick. McCarthy didn't show that he was even talented enough for the NFL in college. That was a Ponder pick if there ever was one (not that I'm complaining; we got Verse because of it), and he's shown nothing except a giant ego on the field (the taunting penalty in Week 18 that killed a drive being a prime example) he hasn't had the right to earn.

I'd honestly rather have Simpson than McCarthy, every day of the week, especially Sundays.

Outside of Arch, I'm not entirely sure any of those 2027 guys are better than Simpson will be. I dont want Dante Moore or LaNorris Sellers over Ty. Where it comes to Quarterback give me the BRAIN.

You think Dante Moore (Oregon), D.J. Lagway (Florida), LaNorris Sellers (South Carolina), C.J. Carr (Notre Dame), Dylan Raiola (Oregon. It's unlikely he jumps into this class along with Moore, but more surprising things have happened), Jayden Maiava (Southern Cal), Julian Sayin (Ohio State), Brendan Sorsby (Texas Tech), John Mateer (Oklahoma), Trinidad Chambliss (Ole Miss), Sam Leavitt (Louisiana State), Darian Mensah (Miami), and Drew Mestemaker (Oklahoma State) - plus Arch, of course - isn't a good class of quarterbacks?

It's a lot deeper than this class; Mensah, Chambliss, Maiava, Sorsby, and Mateer were getting high round buzz for this draft (Sorsby and Chambliss had first-round buzz, in particular) before they went back to college.

That's not even accounting for a quarterback coming out of nowhere like Simpson did. Either way, 2027 is going to be a much stronger quarterback class than 2026.

C'mon Mem, dont put words in my mouth. I didnt SAY it wasnt a good class. I SAID outside of Arch, Simpson is as good a prospect as anyone. I may be off on that but thats to be seen.

And just as you name guys like Chambliss, Sorsby, Mateer, i can name Nussmeier, Beck, Allar and Payton for this class. Same thing.

Apologies. I apologize for putting words in your mouth. It was my last intention.

I just disagree on Simpson being a better prospect than Dante Moore or LaNorris Sellers. I might even rank Sorsby above Simpson, although it's very close between the two; I feel Sorsby is that good.

The others I mentioned have much more potential to be eventual starting quarterbacks than guys like Nussmeier, Payton, Green, Allar, and especially Beck.

(Personal diatribe: I loathe Beck as a player and as a person; not only does he make poor decisions with the football without the arm and tools that guys like Allar, Payton, and Green have, but he's thrown his teammates and coaches under the bus numerous times at Georgia and Miami without taking any accountability, has had an awful sulky (I can't really describe it any other way.) attitude when losing, and went into the locker room to pout instead of congratulating Indiana and Mendoza in particular. Really awful player, teammate, and sportsman. Really don't like the thought of him in horns even more than any of the other quarterbacks - or players, for that matter - in this class. But I digress; I just had to get my feelings out on Beck.)

What I was trying to say - and failing; again, apologies for putting words in your mouth - was that the class of quarterbacks in 2027 looks outstanding and there could be more risers on the way. I truly am sorry that I put words in your mouth; it was my last intention, and I shouldn't have done it.

You are the best Memento. No profuse apologies needed. We're just shootin the shit. I can talk Football like this ALL day. Am i a victim of the Simpson hype? PROB-AB-LY! LMAO

But no, he comes to us and sits for 1-2 years there's a real chance he's studly in time.

I guess the plus is that you don't have to burn a 1st rd pick on a young QB, even if you swap firsts, you still have a top 20 pick. Plus, he has experience in a similar system. Probably would have a better OL if forced to play this year due to injury.

I was going to point out the 5th yr option decision. If he was smart, he would work out a contract at that time that kept him here while he proves himself.

I think it makes some sense if the compensation is minor. A cheap dart throw for a guy who was a first rd pick just two yrs ago.
