News alert: These talking heads are selling stories and media time for viewers to gobble up. There will be more stories the next 27 days as well.....all meant to get your ears/eyes on them. Whether it's real or not (usually the latter).

Agree with that, but if Stafford were to retire after this coming season Simpson could be ready to go in '27. I still have a sneaking suspicion Stafford could play 3 more years.
Yeah, everyone seems to expect him to retire after this year, but baring injury I just think he will play as long as he can wing it. He had 12 years in a shitty organization that got him beat to shit. I doubt he will be looking to retire when all the pieces are in place to keep putting up big numbers. Even if the Rams win a SB this year. He is finally starting to change popular opinion. One caveat would be the Rams cut him loose, looking to go younger. I say I would rather ring out all we can and risk not having his replacement when he leaves.

Same here. Thats why I was pushing for Love.

Simpson will be an Arizona Cardinal by the end of the 1st round after a trade up into the bottom of round one.
Maybe the Cardinals should take him at #13

It's all speculative. None of knows if he'll retire in a year or play for another 3-4 years.

One of the reasons I'm leaning towards a shorter time period is because of something Snead said. He said that if Stafford plays it will definitely be with the Rams, and the Rams definitely want Stafford to be their QB, but Stafford has to decide if he wants to gear up again for another long NFL season. This was a few days before Stafford committed to another season.

I pay attention when I start hearing language about gearing up for the arduous journey. That's the type of stuff AD and the Rams organization started saying the year before he retired.

There can be no doubt that this can very possibly be Stafford's last season. Then again, it may not be.

ESPN is a hot pile of shit right now but for Dan O they are not the problem. He's the dude at work who is always running his mouth before he thinks. That shit works when your job is to drive clicks at a network. But generally those types won't last long in real jobs where there is accountability.
it's a shame his fake job pays him so much money then
